We can Shoot Guns Better than John Wick

BuzzFeed Felt like they could Out Shoot Keanu Reeves
When Keanu Reeves was training to be John Wick, he had to learn to shoot. To do that, he spent quite a bit of time out in California at Taran Tactical working on learning to shoot the 3-gun competition. In the end he completed a 3-gun course of fire in 19 seconds. The guys from Buzzfeed saw this and decided they wanted to try to beat the time.

Well they weren't as fast as John Wick, but good effort for spending one whole day practicing and shooting the 3-gun competition for the first time. Pretty good job for the first time definitely better than most people if faced with the same challenge. See the John Wick/Buzzfeed footage here, How do you think you'd do?

Still, I would not want to face JW, aka Baba Yaga...

Especially they killed his dog and stole his Mustang.

I saw the last John Wick flick, pretty much a non-stop shoot-em-up.
Probably won't see the next one if there is one. Well maybe to count
how many people he kills because counting how many shots he fired
would be pointless. Besides he didn't shoot them all. A little wry
humor like Sean Connery was able to do in those early Bond films
would really be welcome.

Hmm...apparently practice is an important part of competitive shooting. Who knew?

You can rest assured that there already was a next one, and you missed it. It's already come and gone from the theaters. You can hound your local video rental store in about six months, or see it on HBO in about a year.

“quite a bit of time” vs “one whole day” for the two challengers.

How long did Keanu Reeves train.

Good point! He has handled guns before. Three gun is a bit specialized. I wonder what his total was for that.

Thanks, but I should have specified that I was wondering what his total practice time at that school was since the writers had just one day.

If he had been training for several days that would be a big advantage.

Actually i think he practiced quite a bit- He spoke about trainign for it- the article wass posted on FR awhiel back- He also studied jiujitsu to prepare for the role as well-

He’s definitely a dedicated actor who seems ot take his roles seriously- He also practiced martial arts for his matrix movies as well-

The joke is, IDPA stands for "I Don't Practice Anymore."

Not true for me. I practice my tail off.

Know what’s cool? You can go to any IDPA, USPSA, or 3-gun club match any weekend, and you will see people that are at least 75% as fast and accurate as any one of Taran Butler’s students. The difference, as USA Grand Master Steve Anderson put it, between even a C-class USPSA shooter and the average gun owner is simply amazing. Heck, I know an 11-year-old girl who can blow my doors off in USPSA, and she shoots a 40-caliber pistol with a compensator and a red-dot sight.
