MSNBCs Chris Matthews said Tuesday that he is still having a hard time saying President Trump. The host of Hardball with Chris Matthews made the admission during an interview with Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.).
Matthews asked Swalwell about Trumps allegation that former President Barack Obama wiretapped phones at Trump Tower during the 2016 campaign.
This president is no longer credible, Swalwell replied, arguing that there is no evidence such wiretapping occurred and that Trump is seeking to distract from questions about his administrations relationship with Russia.
Well, Trump is president of the United States, Matthews said. I have a hard time actually calling him President Trump right now because when he gets up at dawn and starts tweeting, that doesnt seem like an official statement from a president. It strikes me as the guy who used to say Obama was [an] illegal immigrant or that Ted Cruzs father killed Kennedy.
Matthews went on to liken Trump to some blogger.
Is he president when hes doing this or is this some weird extracurricular at dawn he practices? Matthews asked Swalwell.
Swalwell said that Trump is that armchair uncle after Thanksgiving dinner whos just letting his unfounded opinions fly, and we need a president whos focused right now.
Chrissie still has that “tingle” for Obama.
Kenison was out of control but I really liked that guy. He made me laugh. I can hear him saying that. LOL
OK ... now he's gone too far.
In fact the other day I sent an e-mail to all the libs on my contact list.
All it said was "PRESIDENT Trump!"
I must apologize to everyone here.
I met him about 14 years ago when I was working at Rockefeller Plaza and still hitting the heavy bag regularly.
I should have knocked him the #### out but at the time he didn’t show what a complete #### he was yet.
He did seem like a pompous petty #### though.
Trump, whom I met twice (met means shaking his hand and him saying “hello” :)) was a really nice and genuine guy.
Only other celebrity that was actually very nice was Nicholas Cage. He was really nice to everyone who ran up to him.
It was an act.
He died swerving to avoid hitting a car full of kids who crossed the center line.
I miss that man.
Every time I see someone who’s *thisclose* to biting the cyanide capsule because of Trump, I laugh and think of Conan.
I am loving this.
SO MUCH.
He has Dobermanns.
Of course he’s nice.
“Chris Matthews is still having a hard time saying President Trump,”
Give him time. He will have eight years to get used to it.
I’m relieved to say “President Trump”. I haven’t been able to use that title for an American since George W. left office, and I wasn’t all that fond of George once he got tricked into wasting so much of our grandchildren’s money over the financial “rescue”.
Trump brought the war to the enemedia, and it paid off. Enough Americans got sick of watching “news” that in no way corresponded to the reality they encountered every day, and Chris Matthews (and the rest of the media) are furious that he doesn’t use their filters when speaking to us.
Trump really is a breath of fresh air after 8 years of watching the media carry water for that foreign Muslim cat...
That makes two of us. He shouldn’t have died so young.
——This president is no longer credible, Swalwell replied, arguing that there is no evidence such wiretapping occurred and that Trump is seeking to distract from Russian——
This meme is getting old...
Read the NYT’s dummy and there was no connection to the Russians...
Why would anyone care what you say about Trump? We're done with the imperial presidency and imperial presidents.
Chris is still suffering from the pangs of coitus interruptus since Obama has left the scene.
He enjoys trolling the press.
That’s cool, I still can’t NOT say A-hole Obama.
At NO TIME has President Trump shown ANY disdain for the American people, he has only counter-punched the institutions that have sought to control the average Joe.....they still don’t get it.
