The FBI’s agreement to pay the author of the unsubstantiated dossier on Donald Trump while he was working for an opposition research firm tied to Hillary Clinton raises questions about the bureau’s “independence from politics,” the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee is claiming.
In a letter sent to FBI director James Comey on Monday, Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley asked for more detail about revelations made in a Washington Post article last week about an agreement the FBI made with Christopher Steele, the author of the dossier and a former MI6 agent.
The Post reported that the FBI agreed in October to pay Steele to continue his research on potential ties between Trump associates and the Russian government. Steele was also working at the time for Fusion GPS, a Washington, D.C.-based opposition research firm that had been hired by an ally of Hillary Clinton in June to dig up dirt on Trump.

No. FBI likely found it credible and wanted Steele on the payroll. There is nothing wrong with protecting our country and our president from the Russians.

It looks more like the FBI was attempting to manipulate the election and throw it to Clinton.

So President Trump is sending out his ‘fish hooks’ and he’s getting information by the second...you don’t think that possibly that there are a few ‘good people’ still in the ranks that have talked to President Trump as to where to look...hence his tweet about Barky ‘wire tapping’ Trump Tower...and where else is ‘wire tapped’???
Remember about two weeks before President Trump went to the White House you saw a ‘moving van’ but the ‘moving van’ had some Computer Company name on it, when questioned about this, Barky’s reply was: “The Computers were old so I thought I would replace them”... right, and we were born this morning???
They didn’t find anything with their ‘wire tapping’ at Trump Tower because Trump doesn’t operate that way...so they did the White House instead...and here all these leaks coming out...

Thanks for your reply, HarleyLady27. You also raised some interesting questions. I continue to be amazed at the amount and scope of illegality that occurred in the Obama administration and the lack of accountability of the perpetrators. Thanks again.
I think you are right. Here is another indication that this is the case and that the MSM as usual is acting as the enemy. What happened when President Trump spent time in Mar-a-Lago?
The press immediately started to publish stories about 1) how expensive it was to have the President travel down to Florida (never ever having complained about Obama’s jaunts) and 2) complained about the lack of s-e-c-u-r-i-t-y. Remember the dinner weekend with the Japanese PM? How many leaks? I cannot remember any, but still the press was worried. Not so when telephone conversations between foreign dignitaries and the President sitting in the Oval office were leaked.
I don’t think most of the journalists are aware of what is happening, but they are influenced by people who do know to write this cr-p!
