The new changes are as follows:
Although it still includes tax credits that vary by age, Republicans are considering not allowing wealthier people to qualify for the credits. There are no specifics about the cutoff, although as we reported this week, that could be in the next draft. Grandmothered plans are no longer allowed to remain in the market indefinitely. These are plans that existed before Obamacares implementation, but didnt meet its coverage requirements. In addition to the state innovation grants in the earlier version of the bill, this draft creates a reinsurance fund. It would reimburse insurers for enrollees with medical claims above $50,000 and up to $350,000.

Scumsucking low life Paul Ryan
I’m just saying.
Trump is the ONLY person I trust on the issue of healthcare.
Everyone else, in both parties, is 100% in the pocket of the healthcare mob.
Until Trump speaks up on this subject, I remain highly skeptical.
Fake news. We don’t know what is in the proposed bill and it has not gone thru committee markup yet.
An attempt to get Ryan to disclose details in defense of these BS accusations.
Im also not impressed with Lou Dobbs whining on the subject.
HHS Sec. Tom Price is Trumps point man on the subject and hes working closely with Ryan.
There is no upside to early release of details while the plan is still under construction.
Get the necessary team on board, do the fine tuning, and then go public with it.
THAT is the best plan for success.
Otherwise the plan is picked apart via pot shots, and nothing ever materializes.
Wait. Why is everyone trying to hunt down the bill?
I thought the proper procedure was to pass it so you can see what’s in it.
Let me know when they’re no longer “creating” news for us.
Paul Ryan is such a weasel.
Clown was dominated by Crazy Joe Biden in a debate and then they make his Speaker of the House? Geezzzzz. I can easily figure out what is wrong with Washington.
What ever comes out of Lyin’ Ryan’s congress will be a further gift to the cronies, and a mandate will remain in place - count on it. Trump better veto it and send it back.
RyanCare. It’s all you need to know.
Every K Street lobbyist has their hand in this.
The Freedom Caucus should refuse to vote for this Obama Lite contraption that will break the country. Withdraw this hybrid. Let Obamacare go bust and do not enter the healthcare thicket at all. This is not the government’s business and it never should have gotten involved. Market forces will come up with better solutions than Ryan has cobbled together. Butt out, GOP.
Well, you know what Trump has said, obviously:
EVERYONE MUST BE COVERED
NO ONE WITH PRE-EXISTING CONDITION CAN BE REFUSED COVERAGE
CHILDREN CAN STAY ON PARENTAL PLAN TO AGE 26
— D. Trump.
Those are the parameters he has laid down. Now go design a healthcare system that doesn’t involve the government paying a lot of money into it.
How about someone asking if the 6thousand dollar deductibles are still going to be in effect
Higher deductible plans with HSAs were promised by Trump in his address this week. Listen to your president for a change.
Uh ... whut?
Trump has a long, well documented track record calling for a single-payer health care system in the U.S.
If it doesn’t drop the mandate, it’s a farce. It’s only when that happens that competition for health care needs will occur.
It would a good idea to start defining "pre-existing conditions" more clearly. If I have a chronic medical condition and I'm covered under a plan with Company A and then I want to change coverage to Company B, then Company B would consider my condition "pre-existing." But this isn't the same as an uninsured person who comes down with a medical condition and then suddenly decides that it's a good idea to be insured so that someone else can pay the bills. The law should make clear distinctions between the two. In the scenario where someone has continuous coverage but wants to change insurance carriers (or more likely is forced to change carriers due to a job change, change of medical coverage at work, etc.), then Company A and Company B can work out the details through standard contract language.
We just went to high deductible plan with HSA. Deductible is 2600/5200, we pay 20% of the premium. We pay everything up to 2600/5200 then the pans pays 100%
The company saved enough money on premiums to fund the family employee HSAs at 3200/yr.
It’s a great deal. I wish we would have done it when HSAs first came out.
Trump has been talking HSAs the entire campaign.
It drops the mandate. Both mandates, in fact.
