Democratic Congressman Declares Russia Hacked US Election By Blogging

Rhode Island Congressman David Cicilline has declared that Russia hacked the election by blogging, and thus altering people’s perception of failed Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

(video at link)

Appearing on Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News, Cicilline made a slew of outrageous claims, but his repeated assertions that Russia hacked the election by blogging was perhaps the greatest.

When asked, very directly, by Carlson if Russia influenced the outcome of the election, Cicilline puffed up his chest and interrupted, repeating the talking point that “17 intelligence agencies found that they did.”

The claim stems from a highly-anticipated declassified US intelligence report, which aimed to prove that Russia supported Donald Trump as the US presidential candidate, that turned out to be a huge embarrassment. The annex that contained factual material that was thought to provide evidence that the RT television channel influenced the American public was actually compiled in December 2012, right after the reelection of Barack Obama.

The report focuses on television shows and interviews that took place four years before Trump was elected, and well before he was even a politician. It also zeroed in on two RT shows, Breaking the Set and Truthseeker, which focused on criticism of US. The problem is, both of these shows were off air before the 2016 election season began. If the report is true and RT the Almighty was swinging votes in 2012, the only beneficiary of the coverage was the now-outgoing president of the United States, who won a landslide victory over Republican Mitt Romney.

Carlson went on to ask Cicilline, since he read the report, how exactly Russia influenced the outcome of the US election.

“They document a very sophisticated campaign at the direction of Vladimir Putin, that included fake news, online… uh… blogging, the hacking of the DNC, the releasing of the emails,” Cicilline rambled.

Carlson interrupted, once again straight forwardly asking if there is any evidence — any evidence at all — that Russia changed the outcome of the election with those alleged efforts.

“We don’t know that because it had to do with changing the voter’s perception,” Cicilline asserted, essentially saying that American citizens are incapable of critical thought. “There is evidence that they hacked into our election process, we’ll never know that.”

Carlson asked if he was alleging that Russia hacked into the voting machines and changed the outcome.

“No, no, they hacked into our system — where they released emails, they broke into the DNC, where they did online blogging, fake news…” Cicilline shouted. “Those things presumably effected some voter’s judgement.”

Carlson, stunned by Cicilline’s allegations, responded with, “online blogging? Should that be illegal? What are you talking about? They wrote things you don’t like? That’s hacking?”

Cicilline ignored the question, but went on to claim that the Russians were also responsible for Brexit.

repeating the talking point that “17 intelligence agencies found that they did.”

The MSM and the Dems ( well, they are one and the same ) keep on pushing this lie. There were never 17 intelligence agencies concluding that top Russian officials helped orchestrate cyberattacks against the Democratic National Committee. Only 2 agencies officially ( Office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ) made a comment on it, and that is not what they said. What they said was that the hacks are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts. That is NOT the same as saying that Russia is responsible for the hacks. It is the hackers just use the same methods as Russian-directed efforts ( or more accurately - the Russian - directed efforts are using the methods the majority of hackers use worldwide ).

I read both the "report" and the CSV file with their "evidence". There is no evidence at all tying it to Russia. There are a lot of ASSUMPTIONS. They say it is Russian military AND civilian. All the evidence points to Russian civilian and they just include military in it. All their "evidence" is are a few domain names that end in .ru and a list of IP addresses from around the world. 70 percent of those IP addresses are TOR exit points which a majority of the hackers in the world probably use.. NOTHING in it points to the Russian government. Another bit of "proof" they use are a list of hacker names. They say that these names are other names used by the Russians. They base this on that they used the same techniques as the "Russians". Well, yeah, every hacker ( and this includes the Russians ) in the world are going to be using the latest techniques, thus they will be using the "same techniques" . That does not make a hacker a Russian agent. What makes it even more laughable that the Russians were involved is the malware used is 7 years old. There are updated versions of that malware as late as this years. I am sure the Russians would use a 7 year old piece of malware instead of the current version.

A lot of people believe this. The Russia narrative needs to be destroyed.

The Republicans aren’t talking about voter fraud during this time, and some of them are talking about Russia tampering with the election. They are not on our side.

We don't need Russians to create fake news for us. There are several American media corporations that are not only willing, but eager, to feed us a diet of fake news.

In any case, the Democrats keep basically saying that Hillary lost the election because voters found out about the type of candidate she was, despite the media's attempts to blind us. It is a pretty strong indictment of the Democrat party that they cannot let anyone know their candidates' true agendas if they want any votes.

Here’s a thought for R.I. Congressman David Cicilline: Where’s the investigation into blogging from countries supporting HRC?

Second, if blogging is more pull than push (you generally have to go select it) - wouldn’t it sound rational that persons reading such nonsense would have wanted to see it?

Third, define the parties blogging. Is it the Government of Kraplackistan? Or is it a nobody sharing peals of wisdom from his Mom’s basement?

Lastly, if there’s a crime committed file charges. Otherwise you’re responsible for more fake news and creating more division among Americans. The last election showed quite clearly that we’re sick of this crap. Wake up.

Tucker should invite this knucklehead back once a week from now until 2018. Have him be the mouthpiece for the serial comedy known as the DNC.

He may be from Rhode Island now, but maybe he swam there from Guam after it got top-heavy and capsized.

I have never before this kerfuffle knowingly seen a picture of the Russian Ambassador. All of a sudden he is all over the news. He is certainly an easily recognizable person. I guess we will see him a lot more now. He’s a celebrity!

I'd like a thorough investigation of Hillary's server. Very good chance that Russians hacked into the server.

This would be a good diversion and would toss the issue back in Hillary's lap.

I'd even go as far as to suggest that the hacking of Hillary's server helped the Russians hack the DNC’s and Podesta’s emails.

Let them stew on that for a while and try to defend it. It might be difficult to prove but it would keep the Democrats busy arguing against it. Plus, it would blame Hillary's carelessness for her loss (if you believe the Russians won the election for Trump).
