The AG wont handle the"election interference" case
Attorney General Jeff Sessions officially recused himself yesterday from the nonsensical, possibly even nonexistent, federal probe into claims of Russian interference in the election claims that for all we know were invented by President Trumps enemies in the intelligence community and the Democratic Party.
Despite the oceans of mass media hysteria, there is still no publicly available trustworthy evidence that the Trump campaign somehow colluded with the Russian government last year. Sources in newspaper articles are never identified. There is not a scintilla of proof of improper conduct. Nothing. Nada. Zip. Zero. All we have is the alleged say-so of faceless CIA spooks whose motives are questionable, to put it charitably.
I completely understand that. This is not only a political war, it is a spiritual war.
Yesterday, I witnessed our Attorney General basically surrender. He recused himself (do you think Eric Holder or Loretta Lynch would have done that), and he even apologized. I lost track of how many times he said "I....I don't recall" during his press conference.
When will we learn. You don't surrender to evil. You don't give an inch to the wicked.
The one weapon we do have that he left fears is the legal system, whereby they may finally be brought to justice.
And the head honcho of our justice system just acted like he got caught urinating on the carpet.
Lol. Actually, your analogy may be spot on for this sitution and grounded in truth.
And Sessions recusing himself makes it look like something's there.
Yesterday was a massive fail for our side.
This sets a bad precedence. Now the lefties will use "nothing burger" tactics every time there's something that THEY want to control the investigative process.
If the facts are reviewed carefully, the socialist democratic party had far more contact with the russians than Trump.
We simply need to admit and take action. I am not saying Session should step down. That would be even worse. The media, the Deep State traitors, and the Democrats would have another scalp to hand on the wall (after Gen Flynn's).

But we have to do better than this.
Trump should sit his friend Jeff Sessions down and tell him the time for "team building" at the Obama Justice Department is over. Sessions language yesterday spoke of the Justice Dept like one big happy tech company, and was looking forward to the Spring "off site" the local Weston Hotel Ballroom, where everyone would wear Polo shirts, eat sushi, and call each other by their first names.
Sessions needs to act - and fast.
I’m starting to see a pattern from the Trump administration that I hated when George W. Bush was President. The democrats and liberal media manufacture some scandal and beat on it like its Watergate times 10, then the administration responds by giving them all or some of what they want hoping to just shut them up and move on, which of course only emboldens them. Trump should have NEVER allowed General Flynn to resign, even if he wasn’t entirely truthful with Pence, so what, Obama did much worse on a daily basis without a peep from the media.
Surrender is not a good strategy.
I agree with you 100%. My opinion is that Sessions is the “best available player” for a critical role. I think that the rest of my post indicated that. I only hoped that someone who is opposed to Sessions would present a reasoned justification for his opinion.
I agree.
We love and elected Trump because he fights.
It was a mistake to believe that because Trump is a fearless warrior, then it would logically follow that every RINO and mainstream Republican would follow suit.
You won’t find any reasoned justification. This website is filled with hand-wringing alarmists — most of whom were predicting yesterday that Sessions called the press conference to resign. I have pre-schoolers in my family with more fortitude than a lot of people here.
Sadly, you are squarely on target! It reminds me that an old mentor told me that all the virtue in the world is worthless without courage. Courage is the guarantor of all of the other virtues.
So the supervision of the FBI is effectively the Democrat back-benchers in Congress. GREAT! /sarcasm off
A lawyer yes, but one in the mold of Atticus Finch: Gentlemanly and deferential. Sessions surrendered without a fight
What we need is a fire-breathing prosecutor who fights like Trump. Not one who meekly recuses himself before there is anything to recuse. I am extremely disappointed in Sessions inability or unwillingness to show a little fire in his belly.
I'm really scratching my head over this one.
If the facts are reviewed carefully, the socialist democratic party had far more contact with the russians than Trump.
Exactly.
Optics, optics, optics.

I agree. Why is there even an investigation. Does the CIA and others even have anything, or was it just basically an “analysis” that it appears that Russia leaked the Hillary emails? Can they prove that? If that can’t prove that they have less than nothing, they have wasted valuable time on nothing.
You definitely have a right to that conclusion. I think the DEMs are trying everything in their desperation at regaining power to thwart the Republicans.
I laughed at his “Forgetful Jones” routine to be honest. The battle has just begun, we need to let this stuff play out a bit more.
God Bless!
Bingo! “L’audace, l’audace, toujours l’audace
Recusing himself from any investigation into Russian interference in the election likely means Sessions won’t be apprised of any probe into HRC’s ties to Russia - which are well-documented and require the AG to take action. That’s what he essentially surrendered by recusing himself - it wasn’t just recusal from a probe into Russia and the Trunp campaign. Which is why he should not have been so eager to appease the unappeasible left
No, it doesn't. He specifically said he's recusing himself from any investigation into "campaigns." Clinton's ties to Russia go back long before the 2016 election. Any investigation
In fact, there has been an ongoing investigation involving the Clinton Foundation for quite some time now, and any influence-peddling involving Clinton and foreign actors is certainly a major focus of that investigation.
