Mary Carson picks up her leopard-print tote bag and tugs on her leopard-print scarf.
Im just going to do a little bit of business, the 77-year-old says as she walks into Neiman Marcus at the Tysons Galleria in Northern Virginia and asks for the manager. He appears in a pinstripe suit and shakes her hand.
Im very disappointed in whats happened with the Trump line, she tells him. I hate to do this Im not a real activist but I learned a long, long time ago that you cannot mix business and politics.
The manager listens patiently.
Carson, who worked in marketing before she retired, pulls out her Neiman Marcus credit card and prepares to give it back. It was the obvious thing to do, she says, once the retailer stopped carrying Ivanka Trumps jewelry line on its website a few weeks ago.
If the company feels like they can hurt the daughter of a president by doing something like this, thats mean, said Carson, who voted for Trump. I feel very strongly about that.(continued)

There needs to be more of this all over the country.
77-year-old teaching the left the price of being stupid.
Cut up their credit cards and send them to the CEO.
If you don’t have one of “their” credit cards get one, cut it up, and send it back to them unused.
A wise old marketing professor told my class that any business thinking about injecting itself into politics should ask two questions:
1) How many new customers will the decision bring in?
2) How many current/prospective customers will the decision drive away?
Based on his 20+ years of research and consulting, he averred that the second number was always larger than the first.
Mary Carson is an American. I do not care what party she might be affiliated with.
All the lefty radicals in business who have been trying to hurt the Trump family because president Trump defied all odds to win the election....are mean spirited and hateful.
Thats mo way to run a business unless you want it to fail.
Let them all TANK!
These businesses should announce that it values all their customers no matter what their politics and, in keeping with the great American tradition it will not allow politics to spoil their relationship with their customers.
We are doing our part. See Tagline
And to the Wife:
No Oscars for you !
My wife and I were frequent purchasers of Budweiser products prior to the Superbowl. We have not spent a dime on Budweiser products after viewing their Superbowl ad and will never do so again. I figure they’ve cost themselves at least $150 so far just from me. I know that’s not much to them, but it’s something.
Yuengling porter. Sigh.
Good stuff.
Trump supporter, too.
Even if the Ivanka’s items aren’t selling, they can reduce or eliminate orders without the public “virtue” signaling. They went out of their way to brag that they were too moral to sell anything named Trump.
I don’t drink beer but I just bought yunghling ice cream at walmart
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
Neiman Marcus. Ah memories. When I was a young teen I remember riding the bus from Ft. Worth to Dallas... there was no Neiman Marcus in Ft. Worth. We wore jean shorts and I may have been barefoot. I often was back then. We went into the store and were greeted by the clerk who treated us like the princesses that we were. We tried on clothes all afternoon, bought nothing. I remember trying on a $300 jump suit which was I’m guessing the total amount of our mortgage plus grocery bill for six. Always treated with respect because it was possible that our daddies were millionaires.
Then after we moved to KCMO I found out that here if you want any respect in a store (esp. on the Plaza) you had to really dress up. I sort of lost interest in shopping as a recreational sport at that time.
Yeah, but FUWP.
The funny thing is that Bezos who owns Amazon and a large chunk of the Compost carries all the Ivanka Trump items. Amazon also carries dozens of Trump t-shirts, mugs and other merchandise.
He is apparently a good enough businessman not to alienate half his customers.
Warren Buffet is a libtard who owns jewelry stores and real estate companies but is smart enough not to mouth off at possible customers.
Michael Jordan said white folks buy sneakers, too.
Some of these companies who stopped carrying Ivanka Trump are likely being run by second or third generation family members who always had a cushy life and believe they can always do and say as they choose.
Of course
” How many current/prospective customers will the decision drive away?”
This must have happened a long time ago because this is not being taught today. This is not PC.
I wish I had a credit card for Hollywood to cut up.
Liberal Stooges aren’t the only ones who can boycott.
