STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Rumblings in the restaurant community over the weekend focused on a boycott potentially taking place on Thursday, Feb. 16, on behalf of the Mexican community. The effort purportedly will affect other industries as well.
"Many Mexican [owned] stores are going to close and [Mexicans] are not going to work," said a healthcare worker who declined to give her name but lives in Tompkinsville and hails from Mexico. She will be showing up to her job that day but says her friends certainly are buzzing about it.
"They are asked not to work, not to buy in the stores or internet, not to buy gas, not to send kids to school, not going to restaurants and not going to open their business and it's not only in Staten Island," she said, indicating the discussion was for workers and businesses around the country....

It will identify them. That will make the job easier
“And that will achieve what exactly?”
Self identifying for ICE
Illegal aliens should unionize, it would make ice’s job easier...
OTOH...how many Mexican ILLEGAL ALIENS own actual businesses, I wonder.
Too bad Mexico doesn’t allow Americans to buy the place up.
Is this really a problem...?
“Day without Mexicans” was tried out here in CA about a decade ago. Backfired BIG TIME, when folks realized the minor inconveniences were more than offset by the benefits of their absence, en masse.
“In order to make the world aware that we are hopping mad, we are going to each load a gun, point it at our right foot, and pull the trigger!”
A Day Without Mexicans! And, yes, use the opportunity to identify them an make sure they are gone, not to return.

Lots of small businesses are owned by illegals. Suspect they will have some support from citizens currently receiving government checks. If all illegals were gone they might be forced to work instead of drawing taxpayer freebies.
The Bodegas are usually owned by Indians or Caribbeans.
For greedy restaurants, construction businesses, landscaping and house cleaning businesses, yes.
#### em. They’ve gotten away with murder forever hiring illegals.
If they try to charge me more, there’s ALWAYS cheaper competition.
I suspect this is the reason Trump only won 57 percent on Staten Island
Oh and port richmond, which is a pos area anyway, and a few mexican restaurants will get hurt.
#### em.
On Staten Island, very few.
The vast majority still work for others. And those owners who hire them should be put in prison.
But that would be half the store and business owners on staten island.
BTW, there are MORE than enough Italian only run pizzerias with little illegal help that would force them to close down if they dont show up.
That’s the most important thing.
And if they did, #### it. Shoprite will be open and i’m no slouch at making home made pizza.
I doubt that many, if ANY businesses (legal ones ) in Manhattan, are owned by Mexican ILLEGALS!

It’s time to name and shame and boycott businesses that employ illegals. Thrown a few of them in jail as well as landlords and watch the mass self deportations begin.
How about the Mexican entertainers, does the donkey get the day off?
Fewer cases of hepatitis and E. coli?
