As Donald Trump Denies Climate Change, These Kids Die of It

TSIHOMBE, Madagascar — She is just a frightened mom, worrying if her son will survive, and certainly not fretting about American politics — for she has never heard of either President Obama or Donald Trump.

What about America itself? Ranomasy, who lives in an isolated village on this island of Madagascar off southern Africa, shakes her head. It doesn’t ring any bells.

Yet we Americans may be inadvertently killing her infant son. Climate change, disproportionately caused by carbon emissions from America, seems to be behind a severe drought that has led crops to wilt across seven countries in southern Africa. The result is acute malnutrition for 1.3 million children in the region, the United Nations says.

Trump has repeatedly mocked climate change, once even calling it a hoax fabricated by China. But climate change here is as tangible as its victims. Trump should come and feel these children’s ribs and watch them struggle for life. It’s true that the links between our carbon emissions and any particular drought are convoluted, but over all, climate change is as palpable as a wizened, glassy-eyed child dying of starvation. Like Ranomasy’s 18-month-old son, Tsapasoa.

Inadvertently? No way, it was on purpose!

SEEMS TO BE? C’mon man, you KNOW we are responsible.

Trump is responsible because of some deal he made to make millions while killing kids! /s

CO2 always rises when Hollywood flies in special guests, each person in his own private plane.

Hey,Nikky Baby...

Those people are dying because they live in a nation that would have to come up a long way from where they are to be a third world hellhole, with corrupt, incompetent rulers and hampered by UN rules from making any money off of their rich and unique natural resources.

Trump could probably quadruple the GNP of Madagascar and keep the little kids from starving within a year of taking over, if they elected him to be president down there.

New research, just published in the bulletin of the American Meteorological Society, concludes that human-caused climate change exacerbated El Niño’s intensity and significantly reduced rainfall in parts of Ethiopia and southern Africa.

The researchers calculated that human contributions to global warming reduced water runoff in southern Africa by 48 percent and concluded that these human contributions “have contributed to substantial food crises.”

Oh,really??

last time I looked all the hurricanes formed off the west coast of Africa and the winds moved then westward to the US; that being so How does carbon emission from the US reach Madagascar

Right on! A posted something on the terrible record the NOAA and other climate organization have had in predicting simply the number of North American hurricanes that will occur in a given season a few months ahead of time. Here's the post...

Some diligent researcher has been documenting on Wikipedia what the NOAA and a bunch of other weather agencies predicted the number of major storms and hurricanes would be.

The record of prediction has been pretty bad across the last decade. Perhaps the worst year of prediction was 2013, a highly unusual year when only 2 hurricanes occurred and zero major hurricanes.

The numbers posted below reveal just how bad these guys were at predicting what was going to happen in 2013.

Imagine. If these guys are not smart enough to predict the number of hurricanes that will occur in the next 3 months, how can they possibly predict with any accuracy what global temperatures will be 70 years?!

Have a look at the data...

Over a million die every year because of Green politics.

No joke, no exaggeration.

In 3rd world countries forbidden to use fossil fuel for electricity, over a million people EVERY YEAR die of long term smoke inhalation from wood fires.

And that’s just one source of early death. Lack of refrigeration/air con is another big killer.

Electricity makes all the difference.

I remember listening to a Canadian radio show after the “Montreal Protocol”, and the host was quite distressed to learn that US carbon emissions had been falling without government intervention, while Canada’s had been going up, in spite of their “Save a Tonne” program.

Don’t worry. If the libs ever armed themselves the main casualties would be each other. The idea of a pack of draft dodgers mounting a revolution is high comedy.

“Climate change, disproportionately caused by carbon emissions from America.”

What I want to know is how do they know it’s American emissions and not say, Chinese or Indian emissions?

This reminds me of the old Soviet Union. The USSR was always having crop failures but it was never the corrupt politicians or the commie economic system. It was always some type of climate catastrophe.
