Why the sudden turn-around on the Navy's new rating names? What triggered that retreat? Sudden reversal after much celebrations and congratulations?
Things like that - sudden reversal - just don't happen in the military without something happening to the military. Is there a reason why the Democrats are griping about the retired military personnel in Trumps incoming administration?
History is full of military commanders retiring into politics. It's not anything new.
Trump effect.
The cardinal tactic of progressive action is that nothing is settled until it is settled the way they want it settled, and then it is supposed to be settled in perpetuity.
Trump is turning that around, unsettling everything that progressives thought they had “settled.” As my daughter occasionally asks my wife, “Can I have the keys to the karma?”
Seems pretty simple to me:
Obama got rid of serious military minds through scandal and/or forced retirement.
Obama promoted military people who would push a progressive (homosexual) agenda.
Obama forced people to accept stupid PC policies (like removing “man” from naval ranks).
Then Hillary lost the election.
Trump is coming in, and the Navy is heaving a sigh of relief and reversing course on rank re-naming.
Serious military minds are coming back into government and will be setting policy.
The Democrats are seeing their work of emasculating the US Military all fade away.
Reverting back to the original Navy ratings is the least of the changes that have to be made. Women out of combat arms jobs, an end to the cross dresser policy, even a return to Don’t Ask, Don’t tell. Treating traitors like traitors in the cases of Nidal Hassan, Beau Berghdal, pardoning and commuting the sentences of heroes thrown into prison for doing their jobs in combat, ending the county club atmosphere at Gitmo, riding the ranks of destructive political correctness, there are many, many things that need to change to return our military to its war fighting zenith. Let’s get started. Retired Army Officer.
Time for some push back.
Changing the names back may seem trivial but its still a very good sign. It gives me hope that Trump understands what has been done to the Military. Restoring the Military is near the top of what Trump needs to do. What that Marxist prick has done to the Military over the 8 years is nothing short of treason.
Its not trivial at all but a very good sign. But it can’t be the only change.
Totally agree. Having General Mattis named to become SecDef set the tone for things to come. The Adults are back in charge!
Our troops deserve so much better than what they have been subjected to for the past several years!
Like the MSN, the current appointed official in the military just knew that Clinton was going to become the next President. So even though the rank and file sailors hated the new system they pushed it through knowing it would be backed by Clinton. She lost. Trump won. Those same top appointed officials now knew they were screwed and made the sudden reversal!
“Obama got rid of serious military minds through scandal and/or forced retirement.”
I’m curious and don’t know the answer to this. Can the Trump admin reinstate some of the military leaders and their previous status/rank that Obummer got rid of?
Agree, it can't. But it's a quick win--a low-hanging fruit that may serve as a sign that a new sheriff is in town, and that tradition will be restored.
I still favor the 1st one, that 5 star general that gave us the happy days. His picture still adorns a wall in my house.
No
The Trump DOJ should take a look back at the “workplace violence” incidents and reclassify them as terrorism.
No more pink heels
The Service may assign any retired Regular officer, with his or her consent, to duties he or she is able to perform (14 U.S.C. 332(a))
The writing is on the wall- the adults will be back in charge.
Thanks!
