The latest media person to fail to think and count to ten before hitting the "Tweet" button is Matthew Dowd.
Once a Democrat, Dowd came over to the Republican Party in 1999, and was George W. Bush's chief campaign strategist during the 2004 campaign. He became an independent in 2008 and is currently a Chief Political Analyst at ABC News. He also claims to be Catholic, but clearly has a politically twisted understanding of the first Christmas.

Cheap Labor Express propagandist.
Cheap Labor Express propagandist.
I haven’t attended any church in decades, but that is what I remember....They had to travel to the area of their family-—House of David (?) —to pay their taxes.
Wow, how ignorant can Dowd be (rhetorical question)? They were Roman citizens...that why they were where they were. They had to pay their damned taxes!
Anti-Christian bigots just LOVE attempting to quote scripture when they use it to bash Christianity. This fool has NO idea WHY Jesus was born in Bethlahem and not Nazareth. None. They were not immigrants. They were not poor. They were not refugees.
Like people from Chicago who go to see family in NYC for Christmas are immigrants ......
No, they were taxpayers.
Huh? They were on their way to be counted in a census ... of their own nation.
Now they did take a detour to Egypt but only to lay low for a while before returning home. So they were not exactly “immigrants”.
I’m sitting at a bar in Michigan grabbing lunch and scrolling through the thread.
I stop to take a bite of my prime rib sandwich and sip of diet coke. I glance over my shoulder and their is a guy with his family and he’s giving me a puzzled look.
Turning back to my lap top I have CZJs rather full cleavage on the top of my screen. Thanks for that. LOL
Wait a minute - you guys are going after the wrong Dowd!
You are welcome! :)
There is never a wrong time to post pics of CZJ.
J&M were prospective taxpayers.
No they weren’t.
Luke 2:4: So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
Joseph went from one part of Israel to another.
They were following the directive of an oppressive, big government.
Oh yeah....how many malls and nightclubs did they shoot up? /sarc
Thank you .. finally somebody who knows the TRUTH.
They were NOT considered working class .. they were considered “elites” .. because they HAD money .. and even though they had the ability to pay .. they were turned away.
IT HAD NOTHING WHATSOEVER TO DO WITH THE COUPLE’S ETHNICITY, OR WHERE THEY CAME FROM ... BEING “MIGRANTS” ... WHAT A STUPID CONCLUSION TO A STORY WHICH THE PERSON WHO SAID IT .. OBVIOUSLY KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT.
Joseph and Mary weren’t refugees.
They were, however, victims of the Roman imperial IRS.
And I’m sure they weren’t ILLEGAL.
I don’t have a problem with immigrants.
The left is dishonest in the rhetoric they use to make the right look bad.
