Trump may be a genius, but personality is more important.
The most well-known high IQ society is Mensa. To join Mensa one must score in the top 2% of a standardized IQ test. That really isn’t all that outstanding. One out of 50 people have IQs high enough to join Mensa.
Numerical IQ scores are not an accurate indicator of intelligence. For instance a score of 72 on the U.S. Navy GCT test is about equal to score of 150 on the WAIS (Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale.) Percentile IQ scores are a more informative measurement.

Not that you necessarily do learn.
IQ is also not set in stone. You can diminish and expand IQ. That is something that upsets people but it is true.
I have seen it in children that scored as "retarded" on IQ tests when they were younger who scored as "above average" after being placed in nurturing home environment.
There is also leadership ability, (also something that can be learned) and perception (yes, it can be learned).
In Trump what you have is a guy who had potential and has refined his ability continually.
Most people peak at a younger age because they stop learning.
I’m not going to knock IQ. Smart people tend to be more successful and you need a certain level of brainpower to process complex problems. But as a million people have said before, IQ is only part of the picture. Trump has the drive to succeed that was necessary to become a billionaire. That is pretty important.
I have never posted under 145.

I expect brilliance where I can find it. Uniform tests are substandard.

But I have met & collaborated with some genius level people.
So far as I have looked into it, genius is really the ability to discard failure.
Fear of failure will doom the west.

Yeah. The author should've stuck to characteristics of high IQ at various levels, and let the readers draw their own conclusions. Not too bright of the author, who tells us how bright he is.
My guess is that DJT is high IQ. He likes to draw independent conclusions, based on facts and reasoning, and is not deterred from that because of "conventional wisdom" (oxymoron)

I earned a PhD in psychology many years ago with the stupid idea I would have a chance to help people who were suffering.
I agree 100% with your comment. Psychologists keep people in “therapy” for years and years, digging about in their childhood, a “method” that has NEVER shown to have positive clinical outcomes.
I’ve found a small handful of clinicians who do good work, short term solution focused work when someone simply gets stuck. But the majority are an embarrassment.
Incidentally I left clinical practice after 7 years and went a different direction.

As much faith as I have in Their ART... I would probably be more intrigued by what Mr Trump thought of “Them” after a simple Interview (if they were worthy of his time).
Forgoing their Formal Training Mr Trump would also forgo the Clinical description but probably nail the diagnosis with each, as a descriptive word or two to describe them and be far ahead of the professionals, just with a cold read. He has it.

Yep, and it’s also well known that observation is no substitute for direct testing when it comes to IQ. Thinking somebody is really smart does not tell you what their actual IQ is.
