Pro-Life Ted Cruz brokering Trump deal for Supreme Court
TruNews ^ | December 12, 2016

A deal is being brokered for Senator Ted Cruz to fill a Supreme Court vacancy in exchange for a pro-Trump replacement in his Texas seat.

•Source: “A deal” is being cut which would see Cruz nominated on the condition that a pro-Trump Republican could be found to replace him in the Senate.
•Unclear whether Cruz would be immediately nominated to replace Justice Antonin Scalia.
•Cruz was not on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court picks vetted by Federalist Society.
•Cruz is currently publicly planning to run for re-election in 2018.
•Source: Privately he's ready and willing to become a Supreme Court Justice.
•Alan Dershowitz on Cruz: “One of the best students I ever had.”
•Source: Cruz is widely praised as a legal scholar and orator, but is disliked by Senate colleagues.

(FRESNO, CA) Texas Senator Ted Cruz is set to be nominated for a position on the Supreme Court by President-elect Donald J. Trump if current trends hold, a source close to the process tells GotNews.

The source told GotNews that “a deal” is being cut which would see Cruz nominated to the Supreme Court on the condition that a pro-Trump Republican could be found to replace Ted Cruz in the Senate.

It is unclear whether Cruz would be immediately nominated to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who died earlier this year, or if his nomination would come later. While Cruz was not on Trump’s list of potential Supreme Court picks, he undoubtedly fits the bill as a staunch conservative constitutionalist.

Cruz, who won his Texas Senate seat in 2012, is publicly planning to run for re-election in 2018. Privately, it seems he’s ready and willing to become a Supreme Court Justice.

Ted Cruz was Donald Trump’s earliest ally and final foe in the Republican presidential primaries. He has steadily reconciled with Trump since the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July earlier this year.

Cruz has been described by his former law professor and world-famous lawyer Alan Dershowitz as “one of the best students I ever had.” Cruz is widely praised as a legal scholar and orator, despite being notoriously disliked among his Senate colleagues.

That dislike may make a Cruz confirmation very easy in the Senate.

Hardly! He is NOT liked at all, by his fellow Senators!

That's why they will vote for him...to get rid of him! He'd write tight, well-researched and reasoned decisions rooted in the U.S. Constitution. It takes him out of the political side altogether, so those who think he's likely to make problems in the Senate might want to consider that. I hope he gets it if he wants it, if not this time, with the next retirement/death (Ginsberg?).

Cruz doesn’t know anything about judicial work.

I think Trump has to select the first justice from his list, as otherwise it will appear he is going back on his campaign promise. Perhaps if there is a second or third opening on the SC, Cruz might work.

The Dems would welcome a 69 year being nominated. It’ll probably be Lawrence Tribe replacing Scalia.

If they are going to nominate an old person, Janice Rogers Brown would be 100 times better than Moore.

Yes, it’s called “dual citizenship”.

Every serviceman’s child who is born in another country faces the same issue - dual citizenship. Do we have to throw back all those children too .. just to please you ..??

My father served in Germany. My mother went with him and I was birthed in a German hospital by a US military doctor. I am not nor will I ever be a ‘natural born’ US citizen... A US citizen yes, but NOT a ‘natural born’ US citizen. Why do you think Trump was able to force the Obama crew to produce a ‘born in the USA’ birth certificate?

AND why would Ted Cruz attempt to get Mitch the Senate to ‘resolve’ him eligible to hold the office of president, like the Senate did for lord McCain in 2008?

I don’t have a problem with him being SCOTUS. He’s a strict Constitutionalist. That’s what counts.

"There can be no doubt that Harvard Law School did teach, what is required to be a citizen and what 'natural born' US citizenship means"

A very small, yet really big part, of just what constitutional law is taught, if a case can be decided by statute, code, etc., do so, as to avoid the constitutional question(s)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The paragraph above, demonstrates why you pay the BIG BUCKS for those Ivy League Schools, with professors like Alan Dershowitz.

I am sorry to inform you that Ted Cruz uses our Constitution like the New York Slimes and Washington Compost uses the English language. Ted Cruz talks a good preachy game, but he exempts himself from 'original intent'.

Look what Harvard Law School produces. Brack Obama, Lizzy Warren, Mitt Romney, and Ted Cruz... The 'law' is a business game to all of these people... There is a drug like high when a 'new' precedence can be created out of words.. The Constitution does NOT give authority to any governing body to mess with 'natural born' US citizenship. It is where 'we the people' have power and control. Only US citizen parents giving birth to their offspring on US soil creates a 'natural born' US citizen.

Larry Tribe is a long-standing libtard.

So is Alan Dershowitz. Libtards call our Constitution a 'living' document... Tribe's point was that Ted Cruz made his bonfides at Harvard a 'conservative' that followed the 'original' intent of the Constitution. But when the mod asked Cruz specifically about his eligibility problem, the answer Cruz gave, caused Larry to speak out and call Cruz a hypocrite.

Tribe could care less about 'natural born' US citizenship ... but he sure was quick to point out who Ted Cruz claimed he was, and how he in reality was NOT.

It is most evident, that Ted Cruz knows full well that he is NOT nor will he ever be a 'natural born' US citizen, when he tried to get Mitch the Senate to 'resolve' himself eligible for the office of president.

You are so definitive but if you were right there would be no ISSUE for servicemen/woman’s children to face. In fact many servicemen’s children born overseas to foreign women are not able to obtain any form of US citizenship. Think Vietnam for an easy example.

Cruz hates the Constitution.

Cruz is open borders, foreign control of trade, pro H-1B.
Cruz is a tyrant.
