I will not buy Kellogg products. In fact, I wont buy ANYthing from those who are not aligned with our values.

#DumpKellogs
Hi kids. Ive been eating Kelloggs cereal for 70 years or more. Little did I know it appears to contain more apparent crap than a 1945 childrens chemistry set. Plus, they hate me.
Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes, Rice Krispies, Special K, Cocoa Krispies, Keebler, Pringles, Pop-Tarts, Kashi, Cheez-It, Eggo, Nutri-Grain, Morningstar Farms, and many more.
But...the U____A Book!
OK, who gets the reference?
Or as Calvin said to Hobbes: "Do you know why you shake like that? Vitamin deficiency, I'll bet."
...and Wheaties are a General Mills product.
I’m going to miss Fruit Loops.
Sure.
Mix:
10 C rolled oats
1 C raw unsalted sunflower seeds
2 C chopped almonds (buy the sliced ones and put them through a food processor. Whole ones are too hard to chop)
2-3 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 C brown sugar to taste
Put in a pot and warm until butter is melted:
1/2 C olive oil
1/2 C (1 stick) butter
Then add and stir in:
2 Tbsp vanilla
Pour butter/oil mixture over rolled oat mixture and mix well.
Bake in over at 300 F for 20 mins in a shallow pan, stirring once.
If you want to add raisins, coconut, chocolate morsels, whatever, mr mm adds those too but they need to be added AFTER baking. They burn very easily so if you put them in first, you’ll regret it.
You can also very easily double or triple the recipe.
You just must be careful and find out if Kellogg’s doesn’t actually make the generic cereals as well.
Many companies do make both. The reason their stuff is more expensive is often labeling to pay for the advertising. Sometimes a batch that doesn’t quite meet their quality control standards has a generic label slapped on it.
Thanks for the warning. But how do we know? Is it on the box somewhere?
> I will not buy Kellogg products.
Neither will I.
In 1998 I had to go to Tennessee to represent my company in a lawsuit. Kellogg’s was suing Square-D and my company.
A pressure sensor, clearly marked as unsuitable for refrigeration systems had failed and contaminated 3 million boxes of Kellogg’s Eggo waffles. The jury decided Kellogg’s was a 90% contributor to the problem and we were a 10% contributor because, although the sensor was labeled properly, the advertising literature didn’t have the proper size lettering.
Kellogg’s was looking to recoup the money for removing the contaminated waffles, tossing the discolored packaging and putting the waffles in a new box. We asked about the waffles themselves and the Kellogg’s attorney said that the contaminant was ammonia and commercial refrigerant and that the average toaster would cook off any contaminants.
I told the attorney that my kids would eat the waffles frozen right out of the freezer. Kellogg’s responded that this is not proper preparation.
Bottom line, Kellogg’s re-boxed the tainted waffles and sold all 3 million boxes.
My family has not used Kellogg’s products since.
Much too nice and, frankly, waste of time.
Kellogg’s products are abject garbage.
Everyone here could do far better for snacks/meals, especially for the kids.
I don’t have any idea.
Maybe someone else has an answer.
All I know is that many years ago worked at a plant that produces a product and they had their brand name label on it. And they produced a store brand with a store label for the local store which sold their product and this company made BOTH products.
And the formula was the same for both products.
