Since winning the election, president-elect Donald Trump has broadcast a couple of brief messages directly to the general public over the Internet on his Facebook page. These communications have been denounced by some media talking heads.
Katy Tur of MSNBC called this "a disturbing end-run around the critical filter provided by professional journalists. It allows Trump to put his own 'spin' on the message and transmit it to voters before it has been vetted by those of us whose job it is to act as intermediaries."
That Trump would seek a more direct path to communicate with Americans was probably inspired by the hatchet job the mainstream media did on him during the recently completed election campaign. So biased was the coverage that according to a Pew research study, 38% of the general public gave the major media an "F" compared to a combined total of only 22% giving a grade of "A" or "B."
Tur was unmoved by the Pew findings, claiming that "average people aren't really qualified to judge us. We are the ones with journalism degrees. We are the ones with real world experience covering politics. The ignorant impressions of the man-in-the-street can't be taken as a valid critiques of our work."

Trump said that Twitter was like owning your own newspaper....
“It allows Trump to put his own ‘spin’ on the message and transmit it to voters before it has been vetted by those of us whose job it is to act as intermediaries.””
Satire , right? Ahem... I would be happy if he rarely gives them access.
The media was not ever intended to provide me with their agenda driven interpretation. I am sick and tired of them telling me “The American people said (think) (want) (know) (etc.).......”
Obviously the media has no idea what we want. THANK GOD Trump is willing to directly communicate with the American people. Trump is simply using today’s communication tools as they were intended.
At best, they would include out of context snippets by Trump, so what would they expect Trump to do? Just let them tell stories? What was wrong with him saying Happy Thanksgiving anyways?
ROFL...loving every bit of this media, talking heads, pundits block out...
Keep it up Mr. President...we love you!!!
The problem with buying ink by the barrel is where you will store it until you can throw it out.
trump is all about max performance & profitability from his business background.
what is frustrating the MSM & likely source of their hate for the man & his methods is the fact that he is making the market for news more efficient by “cutting out the middle man”
during the election cycle they hated him because he was getting so much “earned press” that he didn’t have to spend the mega millions that his opponent raises and spent advertising with the various media outlets.
the press pandered to the candidates that were spending money with them & hating on trump for not “doing business” with them
(if this is any indication of how he manages our national gummit all the better)
now during the transition, trump is still eliminating the middle man from the news he’s making by taking it directly to the consumer with no spin.
again the MSM is hating trump, because their multi-million dollar anchors have no “scoop” to report between their multi-million dollar commercial breaks that pump money into their machine.
as more new choices become available to the consumer, the markets become more efficient & the prices come down.
more and more “news” consumers are leaving newspapers & TV sources because of the instant gratification they get from being in the news cycle via twitter or internet as the news is happening.
who’s gonna pay thousands of dollars to have their company’s name associated with “yesterday’s news” or even “this morning’s news” or “last hour’s news”?
he’s hitting them where it hurts the most. their pocket books.
Exactly. Speaking for my generation (I’m 26) I don’t know of anyone my age who would care to read a newspaper and we’re more in tune with the net than we are with what’s on TV.
Seriously: Free Republic articles and commentary are my first source for news.
AND preventing THEM from their spinning LIES, and they DON”T get it, Y E T, LOL !!!
I do have a newspaper for guests at my house to read in case they get a little bored. I skim through news online personally when I get the chance.
Does anyone think that youtube and Twitter will ban Trump to help their MSM friends?

It is absolutely astonishing that these as*wipes in the media think the American people should hear what their President has to say only after being passed through “the critical filter provided by . . . journalists.” I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a more perfect statement for convincing people how dangerous an enemy the media has become in our country.
The media was not ever intended to provide me with their agenda driven interpretation. I am sick and tired of them telling me The American people said (think) (want) (know) (etc.).......

Perfectly stated and needs to be taught and understood by everyone in the country who still hasn’t figured out that the news media is clearly a leftist ministry of anti-American propaganda.
