I would like to discuss something rather foundational.
What do you think about this new nationalism? Do you think it's new? What does it mean? Does it mean putting America first? Does it, in fact, put America first? Has this new nationalism been tried before? It very much has.
The phrase "new nationalism" was actually coined by Theodore Roosevelt in a speech he gave in Kansas on Sept. 1, 1910. In that speech, Theodore Roosevelt, a Republican, later to become a Progressive Party candidate, in essence denounced the Declaration of Independence, and embraced the new nationalism.

Levin has been in a state of perpetual sulk since Election Day. Am finding him impossible to listen to.
He has become the literal embodiment of allowing the perfect to be the enemy of the good.
Good point!
SourGrapeism, NeverTrumpism, MarkLevinism.
I have a family member who is just like Levin.
Could not bring himself to vote for Trump because he
wasn’t a “true” Conservative.
What I told him I will tell Mr. Levin.
Sadly, there just are not enough voters out who agree with you at this point to win elections.
Listening to him after the election reminds me of the sensation one feels when they are drowning after being hit by a monster wave in the ocean
Guys, he’s talking simple American HISTORY here. How about giving foundational history a chance??
I don’t know if Levin is a member of the John Birch Society, but he shares with the organization conservative purism. There is an old saying, applicable to Levin and others, that the best is the enemy of the good.
Oh, please. He’s blaming the Great Depression on tariffs, rather than rampant speculation on margin. Not history. Ideology. Levin was wrong, wrong, wrong, and cherry-picking history in order to support his error doesn’t change the fact that he was and still is in error.
Thanks Mark we will take it from here.
Mark derailed himself months ago
Mark Levin, the gift that keeps on taking.
How about living today?
Even Reagan doesn’t fit Levin’s idea of the perfect candidate
Kevin has all the endearing attributes of an o,d school marm
Part of this is simply not factually true: tariff policies were always used to benefit domestic political constituencies.
His comments about TR also strike me as wrong: for the most part, TR emphasized the bully pulpit, not the bully regulation. And he was responding to one of the worst episodes of crony capitalism in American history.
He is an idiot that doesn’t even know what natural born citizen means.
Levin is a bitter man. Do you notice how he can’t come out and say he supports NAFTA or TPP?
“Many of the people hawking this are not men and women of the assembly line. They’re not men and women of agriculture. They’re not men and women of the steel mills and the oil fields and so forth.”
Did he not see the states Trump won?
Well now he is proposing a trillion dollar stimulus package, exactly the big-government way Obama kicked off his Administration. Actually, bigger. A trillion dollars taken out of the free market and handed to our bloated and corrupt federal government. And the post-conservative personality cult cheers it as a a what? I have no idea, and neither do they, but they love it! Its a great idea! Trump will get it done!
I support Trump overall, but I am not blinded by the mythic silliness that surrounds him. Like I have for every political candidate before him, I will support his conservative, small government positions and call him out on his big-government boondoogles, like a trillion dollar infrastructure bomb. There are conservative alternatives to such programs proven conservative alternatives that get infrastructure built and gets Americans working again, without the bloat and corruption endemic to federal government control.
Levins article, which most of you clearly did not read, is a defense of individualism, capitalism, constitutionalism, and Americanism - things that used to be paramount around here. It would be nice to return to that on an individual proposal and policy basis. Support ideals, not personalities.
I’m with you. I USED to be a BIG fan of Mark Levin. He understands populism - at least in its pejorative use, nationalism and Americanism, but denies the existence of, or professes ignorance of, globalism. WTF?
Levin, is a moron. He has been self elevated to genius status and many of you have fallen for it.
Levin is WRONG on many fronts. Just because he says it, doesn’t make it true.
His Convention of the States proposal is a DISASTROUS idea.
His position on presidential eligibility is IGNORANT.
His opposition to Trump is DELUSIONAL.
His insulting of callers is CONDESCENDING and RUDE.
Mark Levin is an empty suit AND an empty chair.
Rather ironic, posting this in defense of Mark Levin.
