Here is my theory.
Comey has millions in ill gotten gains from Billary.
So he put people he has the goods on to investigate Billary.
Meanwhile all these other investigations going on.
Without him noticing someone WHO HAS THE GOODS ON COMEY got put in charge of the Wiener investigation.
Oh, crap! He has to go public with it.
It is obvious that this is NOT due to serious evidence, or threats to national security because by just setting up the server to obstruct justice that bar was already met.
Of course we have been hearing about the mutiny in the FBI, so that put more pressue on Comey as well. This is likely worse that we’ve heard. The problem is that Comey cannot fire anyone, as they will go to the press.
I think it's got to be that really bad stuff IS going to be made public...maybe even video...and the Obama administration had to get out front before the whole world, including low information voters, saw that they had been lying through their teeth.
It almost sounded to me like what they have on her is so bad he needed to get it out before the election, a heads up that she’s a mafia-style crook.
So basically, theory #4, but an improved version. I was not aware that Weiner was an NYPD case. Makes sense then, that the Feebs have lost control and are now in full damage control mode.
Anyway one cuts this, it’s hard to find a cut that benefits Clinton at this late date. And it’s way too late for Obama to want someone else.

This is pretty close to your theory 4 with some different aspects pointed out.
Problem is, we’ve always known that, and so has Comey. I think the bigger issue is that the cover-up that he worked so scrupulously to protect is coming unglued.

It’s better than theory #4, because it means no one could pressure lower level agents. I was not aware that Weiner’s case was on the NYPD beat.
Interesting theory. And it might well be true.
I’ve suspected that some of Clinton’s emails implicate Obama in her schemes and Barky wants to keep them from the light of day.
