Did Obama turn on Hillary and insert Michelle into the race?
If Hillary drops or otherwise cannot run, what happens to the early voters for Hillary? They just can't be passed along to a new Dem candidate right?

The popular votes determine electoral votes, the real ballot of consequence cast by the elected electors.

Will NOT happen.
THERE IS NO WAY hillary is dropping out after being 11 days away from her LIFELONG goal.
She will lose, but she WILL NOT step down.
Millions of votes have already been cast and she hasn’t been indicted so why would she step down?
No one votes for a candidate for POTUS or VPOTUS. They vote for a slate of electors pledged to those candidates. Those electors could come to their sense even if Hillary does not drop out or is not forced out by the Democrat National Committee and vote for someone else.
This is beginning to smell like Huma being setup to take the fall, voluntary or involuntary.
However, if she drops out and wins - she wins. People on ballots have died during the campaign and been elected anyway.
She’s the nominee. The die is cast.
At some point the ballots are printed. I suppose that when that happens a change isn’t possible.
There are several ways that a president or congress can postpone an election - But those ways are declarations of war, imposition of martial law and total suspension of government for budget concerns.
If any of these happen, guarantee that the US population will be in full-scale revolution.

No problem. Michael Moore or Michelle O can step in and take her place.

Good question. I do not know the official answer, but it seems to me that since one is voting for the vice-president as part of the ticket, he would receive those votes if something happens to the presidential candidate.
The ballots and machines ALL have her name set up and it is far too late to remove it now. THIS WON'T BE OVER UNTIL after the election, and anyone who imagines that Hillary will quit, now, is nuts.
We are voting Nov. 8 (or earlier) for a slate of electors. The electors meet in December to elect the next POTUS and VP, and each can vote for whomever they wish who meets the constitutional requirements, as long as the POTUS and VP they choose aren’t both from the elector’s own state. So the DNC could conceivably designate who the up-to-date nominees are, and most electors would doubtless be loyal to their party.
