As the U.S. elections draw nearer, the amount of bellicose rhetoric from politicians and key military commanders (in truth, politicians as well) has been increasing. The main focus of that rhetoric has been directed toward Russia, and is also blathered in the direction of China, North Korea, and Iran when it suits U.S. political interests. The problem is that all of it is not just talk: action has been taken, especially regarding Russia and the Syrian theatre of operations.
Within the past several weeks, the U.S. has bombed Syrian troops, killing 62 outside of Deor ez-Zor in airstrikes and then admitting to doing so mistakenly. The Russians responded by firing up a UN/coalition convoy almost immediately after. Russian naval artillery then took out a command post with approximately 30 coalition officers, some of them being Americans. The U.S. then made itself responsible (indirectly) for an attack on the Russian Embassy in Damascus, Syria: anti-Assad Islamic militants did the job, and these have support with funding and materials of the U.S.

Fifty years ago; our children were practicing civil defense drills in our ‘public schools’. I doubt most Americans are even aware that nuclear war is being discussed all thru the ‘alternative media’ right now.
PING!
yea but this time the world economy is at a pinnacle of collapse(shell game that it is) and all large players know when it falls, who comes out the other side best, leads the world in the future.. Israel will attack Iran as their nuclear am and ambitions produce fruit, actually I believe they already have them from NK, and Russia..it is coming and we have bowed to the attackers..and the gangstamint is playing it..America will fall to it’s enemies if we do not support Israel, today we are not..God will kill America unless we repent.
with Obammmmmma’s and Hilary’s aspirations of a new world order and open borders they are in with our enemies, as obamma would say, “it’s the right thing to do” yea only if you are a commie muslim who hates our country...yep check..we are in trouble..
Ahhh, best movie ever made.
Russia is led by a warrior. The U.S., not so much. Hell, let’s be candid: We are led by a feckless wimp.
“Interesting, too, that Mother Russia has called for all its students studying abroad to immediately return to their home country, whether their studies are completed or not.”
What is your source for that? If it is true, then the flag is about to go up.
Interesting that another post said that Russia was recommending her citizens return home....
They are going to war if it looks like Trump is going to win. Expect a nuclear blast in a major US city to be blamed on Russia.
Thank you.
The Bay of Pigs was of course under John Kennedy, another Democrat, and I believe the current bunch think they can do what Kennedy did. Problem is Nikita Khrushchev is not Vladimir Putin, neither Obama or Clinton are Kennedy, and our finances are internal strengths are not what they were back then (by that I mean we were a more unified society - whereas today we are an extremely divided one). We all know why that is as well so I won't go into that.
So yes I agree, they are playing the bluster bluff and are grossly miscalculating. That is why I keep saying that we need to create our own Daisy Attack ad like the one they used on Goldwater. It's time for a payback on that anyway, but it most likely will scare the you know what out of a lot of snowflakes. Have her bellicosity and Russian responses as the narrative, that leads to a nuclear explosion with frightened looks on the faces of many children of all races as the nuclear wind hits them square on.
I have a real live nuclear fallout bunker under my back yard.
Based on design and artifacts I think it was built during the Cuban Missile Crisis. It is constructed entirely of steel plate, either riveted or welded, and has hooks for hammocks. It still retains its integrity.
The ceiling is a full 3 feet under the lawn and it has a foyer (because like sunlight radioactivity can’t go around corners, or something). It definitely is not a hurricane or tornado shelter.
Anyway, when the nukes hit, all Texas FReepers should come to my place. Bring toilet paper and vodka.
I read the first 25% of the linked article, and find it mostly valid.
The other factor, societal homogeneity, definitely favors the Chinese. Though while more homogeneous than we, they still have their divisions as well. Russia is sort of in between China and the U.S. in that regard.
But the biggest factor, weapons, we are at the biggest disadvantage. Both countries have newer equipment, and more of it, whereas we might have a slight technological advantage. But that would be just barely and we may actually trail in that aspect too. You are right, whomever comes out on top will rule the world. The only saving grace is perhaps no one will be willing to find out who that power might belong to. It will depend upon who can form the best alliances and have strategic control. Another area where we have become weakened, due to the fact that most of the world no longer believes we have the strength or the conviction.
All of these can be blamed on both parties but more so on the Democrat than the Republican. The Republicans are to blame for going along with the wishes of the Democrats because they were too afraid to fight them and the press, even when they were a majority.
EMP attacks are the weak link in all systems. Thus, I think the first attacks would not be nuclear but rather EMP to cripple the capabilities of their opponent in hopes of avoiding taking the nuclear route. Then threatening the usage of nuclear.
However, has Russia or China built some kind of defense or backup system in expectation?
Have we?
LOL! Smack that gum, general.
Completely agree, and this was addressed in the Stephen F. Cohen i’view on John Batchelor last night if you care to podcast it.
Now Mark Levin hates SFC as a Putin apologist, I do not share that view. He is, arguably, a “Russia fan”.
I am still a little fuzzy on it, but in essence, US foreign policy towards towards Russia was forged in the Yeltsin era. Yeltsin was a very weak leader who was in waaaaay over his head, and gave the US/NATO everything it/they wanted. Because we won everything we wanted in the Yeltsin era, that is now thought of as “the golden era” and so, that is what the pols and generals think is the model for how we should behave. IMO that is an important dynamic to grok.
And the US/NATO became very pushy towards post-USSR Russia in terms of reclaiming countries and pasting them into NATO and did this enough, too much, right up to Russia’s border. Whether it is true or false, Russia regards the Ukraine and certainly the Crimea as “theirs”. The US & NATO have indeed very seriously meddled in the Ukr. I’m not going to pretend to be able to recite the details.
Putin is the polar opposite of Yeltsin. That does mean he wishes to reannex Poland and Hungary to reform the old USSR, but too much is too much. So far, makes sense to me.
I believe that the US and the US driving NATO is, as usual, fighting the last conflict and so is and has miscalc’ed Putin.
This makes sense to me. However, why we are this far along into fairly overt warmongering with Russia does not make any sense to me at all.
Read it right here on Free Republic, a day or so ago. Also, it has been posted on Sorcha Faal (which is right sometimes, but not so right others). It will show up again on Free Republic today, I’m sure. Sorcha Faal (also can be accessed under “What Does it Mean”) has been telling of lots of sword rattling lately about Russia placing nukes here and there and the possibility of imminent war against the U.S. mostly over the situation in Syria and Turkey, and our weaker military after 8 yrs under Obummer.
