Ford Motor Co (F.N) Executive Chairman Bill Ford Jr. said on Wednesday he has met with Donald Trump to talk about the Republican presidential candidate's extensive criticism of the automaker's investments in Mexico.

Ford told the Economic Club of Washington that he thought Trump's criticism of the No. 2 automaker's foreign investments were "infuriating and "frustrating" because of the company's extensive investments and employment in the United States. Trump has threatened if elected to impose hefty tariffs on Ford imports from Mexico.

Ford told reporters after the event that the session with Trump was a "great meeting" that took place a few months ago....

100%.

I have rented Fusions on 3 occasions. The last time, it had 11,000 miles on it and almost dropped the transmission every time it shifted. It was so bad I reported it to Hertz when I returned with the car. I honestly wasn’t certain I would make it back.

“You know, the company that DIDN’T take huge sums of taxpayer money for a bailout and screw their investors in favor of the Unions?”

Because they are picking up and moving to Mexico, taking American jobs with them?

What have you done for me lately?

Memo to Mr. Ford:

I know all this is unsettling to you, but rest assured the Ford Motor Company will not be the only going concern to be compelled to reconsider offshoring their operations. You can be sure coming home will be met with an easing of choking regulations and competitive tax rates and tax policy.

The United States is a great place! You should come back and stay awhile.

And lose the H1B paperwork - plenty of American labor available to be on the job tomorrow.

There are 26 R-T-W states the Ford could have gone to.

This supposedly happened some time ago. And yet, just recently Trump stated that the 35% tariff is a must. So Bill Ford didn’t sway Trump very much.

Trump should also add that he understands why with the onerous regulations that impact auto manufacturers burdened with them. Right now he can't say anything about the stifling realities of unions, but hopefully after he is elected he will declare the entire country a right to work country. Because unions are a large factor for them moving out of the country.

I am all for the workers, but I despise the corrupt unions.

Unions are a small problem now with only 7% of the private sector unionized.

Pres. George Washington, that closet Communist, signed the first Tariff Act in 1789. Who knew? LOL.
