For Sen. Ted Cruz (Texas), the decision to endorse Republican nominee Donald Trump wasnt an easy one.
Although for the former Republican presidential nominees supporters the decision seemed to be sudden and rash, Cruz told KTRK-TV Friday that the decision to support Trump didnt come as a result of a political deal, but rather it came after several months of thought and prayer.
There were no deals, Cruz told the news station. We had been engaged in conversations. You know its been a decision as I said Ive been thinking about and praying about for weeks and months, discussing it with my family, and I made the decision today and announced it Friday.
Following his non-endorsement of Trump during the Republican national convention in July, Cruz took a lot of heat from Republicans and supporters alike. At the time, Cruz instructed Republicans to vote their conscience, a phrase that drew a large number of boos during his speech.
During an interview with the Texas Tribune Friday, Cruz invoked the phrase again, this time in-favor of Trump.

The CFR Morgan bank TPP support connection creeps me out.
I agree Inchworm that could happen. Will wait and see.
I was a supporter for Cruz for the TX Senate, but this next election he will have to work very hard to get my support back. I am not fond of people that “take their toys and go home” when things don’t go their way.
The accusation against Trump always starts as “The things he said about your wife.” Trump NEVER said a word about her, he posted a picture of her on a re-tweet in response to Cruz’s photo of Melania. I wish they would get that bit right.
Ill take it. If Trump elected. CRUZ COULD BE A GREAT ALLY. It was two big egos running for same office. It took some time to heal now lets move onward towards the goal!
Cruz is indeed an ally and somebody who will help get the vote out for Trump. I'll definitely take it as well. neverHillery.
Trump outed his dad. And he has NOT forgiven that.
Correct, and that one simply pointed out that the truth would come out about her.
True. And I still think his dad was involved.
He sure knows all of the right Christian lingo.
I do too. Hopefully some researcher is working on this.
I like your response.
The guy who posted the picture is dead.
I don’t think anyone is looking into it.
He saw another chance to say Trump is bad bad bad. But wonderful Ted forgives him. Took a lot of “prayer” though.
Yes, he does, and after watching him through this primary season, I can see that it is all an act.
No “Cruz” Globalists on the Supreme Court!
Cruz is a Globalist hidden in Conservative clothes.
I think the good people of Texas should vote their conscience in the next primary for senator of Texas.
Why?
He is now on board and was always going to be.
In choosing allies there are only two considerations, can they shoot and will they aim at your enemies.
Cruz has shown that he is not interested in the second.
So, not an ally.
At best something like Stalin in WWII.
I hadn't heard about that. Who was it, what were the circumstances of the death. Thanks.
Best as I recall, he was found in a stairwell dead from gunshot wounds. Unsolved.
Much like Seth Rich, IT guy for the DNC.
