Drunken Angler Pulls a gun on Family trying to fish His Spot
While his undersized fish was being taken away by the DNR, this drunken angler was being taken away in the back of the patrol car.
The Michigan State Police had their hands full last Thursday when they received an unusual call. It seems that a family of four had been fishing a stretch of water on the backwaters of the Hodenpyl Dam when a drunken angler pulled a gun, pointed it at the group, and fired.
The trigger happy angler turned out to be 54-year-old, Thomas Mast. It seems Thomas had a few too many drinks before he decided to take his boat out for a spin.
Police say that Thomas began to tell the family of boaters to stay out of his spot. After a short exchange of words between the two parties, the intoxicated angler decided he had enough. Next, Thomas pulled a gun and fired one shot in effort to scare the family out of his honey hole. Read the rest of the story here.
Stupid............both the fisherman and the headline editor..............
One suspects that Mister Mast might not want supporters of 2A and responsible gun ownership on his jury.
Idiot.....being drunk and firing any weapon is insane
If that is what passes for journalism these days, no wonder the MSM is in such rough shape.
This gun idiot will make all the national news programs to show how we’re all a bunch of drunk, redneck, irresponsible gun nuts.
I used to laugh at articles like this about 7 years ago or so.
But lately, idiots like this seem to encompass a much larger portion of our population than they used to.
What a moron. Slap him with every charge they can and give him the max.
Knew it was going to be a crazy ashed cracker.
I can’t tolerate mean drunks. Slap a felony conviction on him. And give him about 10 years in prison to sober up.
Drunks and firearms don't mix...
Extremely sad story...
“If you’re too drunk to fish...you might be a Redneck.”
A few years in prison should sober him up.
Did you hear that from a Lynyrd Skynyrd song?
Nope, from the brother of the man who pulled the trigger...
Wow, art does reflect life.
Grandpa once mentioned, in one of the VERY rare times he took me fishing, that something similar had happened to him when he took my father and uncle out. Guy was a known drunk and had a petty-crimes rap sheet long as your arm. So Grandpa paid a visit to his boat a few days after and did a little ‘maintenance’ on the drain plug, engines and life jacket.
When I asked if he ever bothered him again he just smiled real big and said “I don’t think he bothered ANYONE again.”
Not a real good idea to shoot at the children of someone who served in the Navy on a warship.
Tales such as this have happened countless times. Prisons are full of men who wished they hadn't gone out drinking that night.
