Feminist Magazine: Bill Clinton Isn’t Necessarily A Bad Guy If He Raped Juanita Broaddrick

An online feminist magazine recently featured an article that excused former President Bill Clinton’s alleged rape of Juanita Broaddrick.
A Wonkette article titled “Let’s Talk About Juanita Broaddrick” claimed that even if Clinton had raped Broaddrick in 1978 — he was running for Arkansas governor at the time — it does not necessarily mean he’s “an evil man.”
“To sum up, I think Bill Clinton could very well have raped Juanita Broaddrick; that it doesn’t make him an evil man, or irredeemable (I’m Catholic; we’re all forgiven, if we’re sorry, and Broaddrick says Bill Clinton personally called her up to apologize). It doesn’t even necessarily make him a bad feminist — you know, later, once he stops doing that,” the article claimed.
The author also wrote that while she could see Clinton raping Broaddrick back then and viewing it as “alpha sex,” she could also see a lot of other men of the time doing the same thing.
“I can absolutely see Bill Clinton doing this (then, not now) and not even thinking of it as rape, but thinking of it as dominant, alpha sex. I can see a LOT of men doing that during that time period, before we started telling them in the ’80s, “hey, that is rape, do not do that,” the article stated.
She even said that she could see someone’s grandfather doing the same thing during that time.

In Cornelius Ryan’s epic “The Last Battle’’ he tells the story of a lesbian Communist and her Jewish lover who successfully hid from the Nazis in Berlin , longing for their day of ‘’liberation’’ by their ‘’socialist brethren’’. During the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, rape was lower than modern day, partly because of smaller communities, partly because of ‘court/religious manners’, but mostly because of the death penalty (or in the case of European powers, “transport over the seas”). The last public execution for rape was in 1936 at Owensboro, KY. A woman, Sheriff Florence Shoemaker Thompson, conducted the hanging of Rainey Bethea. It wasn’t until 1977 that the Supremes ruled rape was not a death-penalty level offense - within the lifetime of William Clinton.

The Democratic vice presidential candidate is pretty much part of the Clinton family at this point. But in 2002, he said Bill Clinton should have stepped down in the wake of his affair with a White House intern.
Bill Clinton should have resigned over the Monica Lewinsky scandal—at least, that’s a view Tim Kaine once held.
Kaine’s remark—reported 14 years ago in the Richmond Times-Dispatch in the aftermath of a state-level sex scandal—hasn’t drawn any attention thus far in the 2016 presidential cycle. But it suggests Hillary Clinton’s running mate at one point harbored reservations about the integrity of the man poised to become the country’s first first gentleman.
