Isn’t it interesting - a gun saved that kid’s life. The zoo didn’t rely on calling 911, the zoo didn’t keep its rifles in some state armory, they most likely didn’t have any sort of electronic trigger lock...they just had a plain ole gun at the ready. And I presume they’ve never had to use it, until now.
I’d sure like to be able to have my own gun at the ready, even if I never have to use it.
P.S. : Can I put my old football pads and helmet on, first? ;)
Have you seen the video? This wasn’t one of those instances where a female gorilla is protective of a child. This male had a new toy to play with...roughly. I don’t think he would have given his toy up.

The gorilla was acting as better parent.
From what I’ve read the mom was on her cell phone when this happened. Now I understand people get calls but don’t parents understand anymore how to tell a kid a firm “NO you may not go see the gorilla up close”?? These parents are either lazy, stupid or both.
The kid have to have been climbing up over the fence to see the gorillas and she must not have been trying hard enough to stop him.

Those are “sentence enhancers”. You use them when you want to talk fancy. You just sprinkle it over anything you say, and Wham-o! You’ve got yourself a spicy sentence sandwich!

Did you see the video? The mom up there yelling “mommy’s here” Had that been my kid I would have already been down there like the Tyrannosaurus Rex in the movie The Lost World Jurassic Park, you know the scene where “Mommy’s very angry”. Even these silverbacks, as big and bad as they are, know not to mess with a mother who wants her baby.

She has four kids, one is an infant. Not sure if they were all there with her that day, but there was more than the gorilla kid with her. Supposedly he told her he wanted to go into the water. She told him no and the turned her attention away, maybe phone maybe other kids. He went over a concrete wall, across a bushy area, through a fence and over the edge of the exhibit. He was gone for more than a minute.
That exhibit has been there over 30 years with no breaches. Parental negligence definitely played a role.
