It could be worse, Jeb! or Ted Bush could be the presumptive nominee. At least Trump has shown he can win elections where voters actually vote.

You have condemnation at your beck and call. I only have history and experience with all that is “Rush” on my side.

Your “yardstick” is supremely elastic. I am castigated by a Rushie now..... ooga booga. How will I ever survive.

I just cannot understand that G5/G6 at my beck and call, that beachfront mansion compound in Florida, those $100 cigars, those impromptu golf trips, those dinners with sycophant cronies, those NFL football games. All of that. Silly me. I just don’t understand because my effing yardstick is broken. I just don’t understand conservatism masquerading as identity politics from posers who have no earthly idea what driveby America goes through - haven’t for DECADES!

Somebody who didn’t vote during the Reagan years, who never bothered to register until he was 37, isn’t exactly a diehard conservative. His interest in politics only coincided with his opportunity to make money off of it.

I’m guessing the no-voting thing was during the years he was an AM radio jock and an ad flunky with the sports team.

He definitely isn’t stupid by any means. That doesn’t make him the genuine article.

maybe he is out getting “stoned” as his name could be translated? Or the ISIS folks are stoning him?

Hmm maybe.

I’m not sure that Steyn strikes me as that type of author though.

That guy is extremely verbose. He is never at a loss for something to say.

I have preferred him to Rush for sometime. I feel like I get more information, analysis and humor from him than I get from Rush.

Lately though, I’ve been getting nothing from Rush as I don’t listen to him anymore, and I have been most content with that nothing.

Somehow conservatives managed to elect Ronald Reagan in the era before Rush and the Conservative Entertainment Complex arrived to turn conservatism into a money making enterprise during the GHW Bush presidency. In the years since we have had Rush selling Bushism as “conservative”. If Rush had his way Marco Rubio would be on the ticket this year.

LOL!

You’re tired of the GOPe establishment saying one thing and doing another, so you’re supporting an “outsider” who .....says one thing and does another.

Posted Tax Plan....oh, no that’s flexible, tax the rich
Deportation! ....oh, I mean touchback amnesty.
Pro-Life...oh, except for rape and incest
Stop Obamacare...oh, ya, we need single payer
Renegotiate our debt....oh, that’s not what I meant

Drowned in you “history and experience”?

There is simple truth in what you say. As far as Rush and Bushism, I am only left with the quandary of dealing with his DHS, specifically his TSA in the aftermath. Somehow, that kind of ‘conservatism’ rubs my butt with a wire brush.

Who EVER would have realize that the “compassionate conservatism” W was talking about was 50 million illegals up our butts.

Those would be the years. I’m the same age as Rush but I managed to vote in every election, including of course twice for Reagan. And I managed to volunteer on campaigns as well, something he never speaks of because he never did it. He found time for fantasy football but not grassroots politics.

Your boy would have given all the illegals citizenship if meant he’d get the rest of the states left in primaries, particularly California.

You just don’t realize WE on this side want all your excuses and promises gone.

Well, Rush hasn’t taken off too much time, unfortunately, lol! As writers get older, it gets harder to turn out stuff. I’m not saying Steyn is old but he may be having some writer’s trouble. It’s better than presuming he’s ill!

Then Rush must be batting a 1.000 with 100 homeruns right now, because this election is a disaster.

Rush would not even make the position of 'bat boy'. This election is awesome for conservatives..

i have been watching too. He sometimes has some downtime on the website. I pray his security and that of his family is the best, and I hope he is moving to Australia soon, for the Obama racketeering caper about environmentalism is targeting him and his high profile among many others.

Obama’s political enemies get lined up against a legal wall to be shot.

He isn’t stupid by any means if you can discount number of wives, drugs and what not. That aside, a very intelligent and excusing man quick to the uptake and preemptive forefront.

In the end, too many (far too many) are beginning to see him for the opportune person he is, and he is scrambling to rehabilitate that erstwhile image - rather ineffectively in my opinion. The maestro does indeed have no ideological clothes, frankly. Reputation, dwindling audience and thus far placated sponsors help him. But that shall soon out come this November. You can rest assured he’s socked enough cash away to wile away his remaining hours in self-awarded ‘broadcast excellence.’

“Who EVER would have realize that the “compassionate conservatism” W was talking about was 50 million illegals up our butts.”

Some of us in California who had voted for Prop 187 in 1994 knew what Dubya was made of.

Prop 187 was our attempt to slow the illegal alien invasion. Entirely a grassroots affair, we were fought tooth and nail by the open borders/treason lobby leadership of the GOP.

Jack Kemp and Bill Bennett were two of the treason lobby gang who flew out here to side with illegal aliens against the voters of California. A third was the then-governor of Texas, GW Bush. I never forgot that bit of gratuitous backstabbing and I didn’t vote for him.

W spearheaded the 2006 push to legalize them. Even my two Georgia Senators voice concurrence - until they got bitch slapped back to realville.
