According to a new Economist/YouGov poll, Donald Trump is the only remaining Republican candidate who inspires GOP voters.

Lol. Propaganda
Thus, aside from the fact that your assertions are utterly false, your analysis is spot on...
No. The number one issue right now is saving the country. I invite you to run on a national platform of right to life, restoring the family unit and religious liberty and see how far you get. You talk about patriotism but your issues are misguided. Securing the borders, deporting as many people as possible, and restoring the economy are the biggest issues. You don’t do that and the country is gone. That means electing Trump and only Trump. The fantasy of Ted Cruz is just more of the same.
It would appear that you missed my point which was focused on the writing contained within the article. “Inspiring” someone can be both a positive and a negative. One can be inspired to vote for Trump, one can be inspired to vote against Trump.
I am not easily influenced by anyone, especially politicians. I’ve been in sales for a long and can see through parlor tricks and rehearsed speeches that aren’t from the heart.
Trump is the only candidate I could ever follow and see as a leader. Not even because of his policies, but because I can tell from watching him speak that at least what he is saying is from his heart and true beliefs, not from alterative motives.
First person in high level politics I’ve seen that I can say that about, and the only one I will vote for. I will not vote for practiced actors.
You continue to miss the point. We both agree with what you said are objectives.
What we disagree with are the strategies to do so. We have witnessed acquiescence to the abhorrent procedures of abortion where living beings are plucked out before birth and killed for the convenience of a woman.
We have seen the wanton disintegration of a family unit when it becomes permissible to freely engage in sex outside marriage, to be let unnatural unions to become ‘marriage’, to let the govt take the place as provider for kids instead of a real father.
We have seen intentional belittling of God’s role in creating this country by restricting the freedom of religious practices. This will be turning into all churches being declared illegal at some point because their values are not the same as the governments’.
all of these create a disrespect for the foundations of this country, which means that the degree of patriotism are eroded.
Without patriotism, we cannot survive as the entire basis of why the Constitution came about no longer applies to those who do not endure fundamental social conservatism.
Get behind that, and the rest will fall into place. Just the way our Founders intended.
America's Inspiration to MAKE AMERICA GREAT, AGAIN!!!!
“So you like the way things have gone for the last 25 years??? OK....”
“Your comment is what is known as a non sequitur. It does not follow.”
And your tagline, ABT anyone but Trump, would indicate that you are opposed to Trump due to personal reasons that have nothing to do with our country’s progress. Since you’d accept anyone but Trump, then why not push for an Obama 3rd term, Hillary, Kim Jong Un or the Devil himself?
“First person in high level politics Ive seen that I can say that about, and the only one I will vote for. I will not vote for practiced actors.”
If you would not vote for Reagan, then you are not a conservative.
And yet he is a champion of the imperial war state which has beggared the country and damaged our national security; a champion of the prison-industrial complex which has the US leading the world in prisoners per capita; votes for military assistance to the fascist government in Kiev; supports militarization of police; votes for secret courts; supported a law that allows Obama to indefinitely detain American citizens; voted for line-item veto which surrenders a great deal of Congressional power to the President; votes for continuing the PATRIOT Act (and all its unconstitutional surveillance provisions); votes for all these "free trade" deals that aren't very free trade at all; votes for agricultural subsidies; voted for Head Start; and more.
And again, he's well above average for the kind of "social conservative" we've been voting into office. Possibly even in the top 5 percent overall.
It's like knowing someone who is a perfect father, loving husband, productive employee who gives generously to charity, attends church every Sunday... and has a freezer in his basement full of body parts.
We've been getting nothing from "social conservatives". Decades of voting for these guys and everything has gone in the wrong direction, because they're highly flawed and incomplete as conservatives.
What we need are the real deal: Constitutional conservatives... and on that score, Gohmert is kind of meh at best.
If you want to conserve America, everything starts with restoring the Constitution. Not bombing Iran, not wealth-stripping trade deals, not secret courts and secret police and throwing people into jail for smoking weed and keeping troops in Afghanistan and Iraq long past any rationale for keeping them there, and not consistently, time after time, where the rubber really meets the road, voting for the budgets that fund all the things that a social conservative tells you on the campaign trail that he opposes.
T**** will lead nothing...ever.
My "Anyone But Trump" refers to the Republican nomination. And my opposition to Trump is based on what I know of him and have observed of him, and therefore is due to not trusting him to think, speak, act, or govern as a social and constitutional conservative, in addition to his not having the character, demeanor, or temperament to serve as president.
Trump does inspire - he also gives hope that all is not lost, and America can rise up and be America once again.
Cruz inspires me to cut my ears off.
Social conservatives walk, T**** loses. T**** is doing nothing to appeal to this group, since he thinks he knows everything, when it is clear he has no idea how to even win delegates. Hint: read the rule book.
He is as clueless about issues as most anyone is if you bump into them at the mall. T**** is truly a rich embarrassment.
P.S. T**** will do nothing to change the PC culture. He can't. It is way bigger than him.
It doesn’t matter who wins the nomination. I walk if T**** wins the nomination. We wait until 2020.
nothing you say I disagree with except what you say about Gohmert. It is incorrect, as you are describing most of congress and their actions which are despicable.
I really do not care who is President as long as Congress does its job. Congress can control the president. right now, the choose not too.
and we need to elect people in congress like Gohmert to change that.
DT talked and talked for 30 years about running for president. I’m sure he has learned about a lot in that time besides buying congress critters.
Stacy McCain interviews Ed Yager, author of a new book Ronald Reagans Journey: Democrat to Republican.
A key exchange:
Q. Why is Ronald Reagans early identification as a Democrat important to understanding his political career?
A. Because over about a 17-year period, from 1945 to 1962, he struggled to make sense of the political world. And he learned from his personal experiences there in Hollywood. He also learned from his personal experiences while on tour [as a spokesman for] General Electric, and he consistently discussed and debated political philosophy and policy issues with friends and family. And he also learned from a variety of books and magazines.
So he was an engaged citizen, trying to make sense of the political world during the postwar period. Through these different sources he developed his own political philosophy of having a hard-line position toward the Soviet Union in particular and international communism in general. His domestic policy views, those evolved later, during the mid- to late-1950s.
His political development was over a long period of time. It was gradual and sequential. So that by 1962, when he changed his party affiliation, he had a coherent political philosophy that would guide him throughout his political career.

DT has not ever said he would take a hard line at the nation that supports our greatest enemy and has shown aggressiveness with their military in higher frequency. Has DT spoken about that?
I don’t know....Has anyone written a book about what Trump has said for the last 30 years pertaining to politics???
If so, then read it and you’ll get your answer....
Well said....
That’s where we get to the “body parts in the freezer” problem.
Gohmert wants us to keep troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and empower Obama to wreak mischief all over the globe.
This is wholly inconsistent with any valid tradition of conservatism.
And the reason why it is a problem is that imperial domination of the globe isn’t free. If you want a war state, the choices for funding it are taxes and debt. Which one is the conservative choice?
Being right on many issues doesn’t balance out being catastrophically wrong on big ones. Better to have someone who gets the big ones right.
The big issues we need to face are foreign policies, trade policies, and budget issues. Everything else, Constitutionally, should be decided by the states. Gohmert has staked out strong positions in the wrong direction on all three of the biggest issues at the federal level.
And that’s what the cream of the crop looks like. The average is far, far worse.
