Via Breitbart and the Right Scoop, you can grumble about this if youre #NeverTrump but we all understand, I think, that the vast, vast majority of the party will come around to his position by November, right? Dont get me wrong, stalwart anti-Trumpers may have the numbers to fatally damage Trumps chances even if theyre just five percent of the electorate. But thats probably what theyll be five percent, not a third of the party despite how much fun it is to ooh and ahh over numbers like that. Never underestimate the power of partisanship, especially when youve got a Democrat as unlikable as Hillary topping the other ticket.
And even if five percent of Republicans do end up as #NeverTrumpers, thats not necessarily a death sentence for Trumps campaign. Why? Because some segment of Bernie fans claim that theyre #NeverHillary:
One out of four Sanders supporters 25 percent say they would not back Clinton in a general election if she became the Democratic nominee for president, while just 69 percent say they would support her, according to a new McClatchy-Marist poll.
By comparison, Clinton supporters are considerably more open to supporting Sanders should he overtake her large lead in delegates and win the nomination. Just 14 percent of Clinton supporters would shun him in the general election, while 79 percent would support him, the poll found.
Whats the actual number of Sanders supporters whod sit out an election with either Trump or Cruz, both of whom will be painted by Democrats as unprecedented threats to the republic, as GOP nominee? Two percent? Remember all the Hillary fans who vowed after 2008s bitter primary to loss to Obama that theyd never vote for him for president? Howd that work out?
Anyway, click the image to listen to a preview of what conservative medias apt to sound like this fall if Trump seals the deal in Cleveland. Levin has endorsed Cruz and has fiercely criticized Trump over the past few months (even over the Michelle Fields incident, which is unusual in major conservative media) but hes prepared to set that aside in the name of beating Clinton. I wonder where Glenn Beck, Trumps most strident critic in conservative talk radio dating back to last year, is on that. If anyones going to carry the #NeverTrump banner to the bitter end, its him.
I was a Levin listener practically from the beginning of his show until 2013/14. He just lost it.
I didn’t leave Levin. He left me.
To be more accurate, Cruz said “Trump and Hillary are two sides of the same coin.” He said that because Trump had donated money to Hillary, that meant Trump endorsed Hillary, and it meant that Trump agreed with all of Hillary’s policies.
O’Reilly challenged Cruz on this, saying that Trump had made those donations as a businessman, and that’s how business is done in New York. Cruz argued with O’Reilly, and said it didn’t matter whether he was a businessman or not, Trump had donated to Hillary. Etc.
In other words, Cruz refused to differentiate between a businessman who makes donations in order to get business done in the corrupt world of politics, vs. a politician accepting donations to line their pockets.
Another crap sandwich to munch with a Trump nominee? I already had to do that with McInsane and “Mitt happens” Romney. I am surprised I am not dead from shigellosis like the homos.
I first started listening to him when he was only local on WABC in NY. I own every one of his books. I’ve got a signed copy of Men In Black.
He’ll never see another dime of my money and I’ll never tune into his radio program again.
Mark Levin, as editor of the conservative review, allows Amanda Carpenter to publish black lists of people who support Trump.
So its way beyond just not supporting Trump, but also going and permanently blacklisting his supporters.
I understand someone supporting and working hard against another candidate but I have never seen the outright hatred of a person and his followers than I do of Trump. The main reason is he is truly antiestablishment. None of the candidates are and so not only he but anyone in an influential position that supports him must be destroyed or severely damaged to send a signal to anyone else brave enough to try and take the GOPe and Uniparty down.
Well, he was right. You Trumpets would shout from the rooftops if Ted Cruz had donated to a Democrat.
By that logic, since the Bush Family backs him, Cruz is now part of The Establishment.
Hahahahaha!
I’ll vote for Trump if he’s the nominee. Meanwhile 20 people in my extended family will happily vote for Cruz in the NY primary.
O’Reilly just showed a recent poll (small sample size, only ~300 people) that showed “Unfavorable” ratings:
Cruz: 55%
Hillary: 59%
Trump: 69%
O’Reilly asked his guest (a woman) if Cruz and/or Trump can improve their numbers.
The guest said she thinks Cruz should be concerned, because he isn’t well known across the country yet, and if he has 55% unfavorable rating while being relatively unknown, that’s alarming news for Cruz.
I have Men in Black, signed copies of: Liberty and Tyranny, Ameritopia, and the Liberty Amendments.
Went to get those books signed at Book Revue in Huntington, NY (my hometown).
Listened to him for almost 7 years straight, missing VERY few shows (podcast).
He can’t see the true threats - illegal/unconstrained immigration/Islam/Obama. He is focused on “big government.”
We don’t have a “big government” problem.
We have a MUCH BIGGER problem. He doesn’t get it.
Sorry Levin - sad.
Reagan had a Bush as a running mate.
Did they do, put their applications for work in the hands of the canadian Lord?
I never thought I would disagree with Levin on anything. Bought all Jim books, his dad’s books, faithfully listened to his radio show. Now I say EFF him. He’s such a hypocrite, and continually claims to have so much integrity and “respect” for his audience. Methinks the lady protests too much. “I don’t hate Trump, I don’t hate Trump.” BS. What fools he considers his audience to be.
Now that’s a knee slapper! You’re boy is at 70% unfavorable and it’s Cruz who should be concerned?
You say that like you think it's a problem.
Well, Trump cannot get the required delegates to win on the first ballot.
Even the best case scenario as outlined by Breitbart, big Trump supporters has him short by almost 100 delegates.
So, I think Mark Levin is being very gracious and very realistic.
