Here's some good news for all you black folks complaining about racism in America.
You don't know how good you have it.
At least that's the message I heard during one of the strangest conversations I've ever had about race. I was talking about the concept of white privilege -- the belief that being white comes with unearned advantages and everyday perks that its recipients are often unaware of. I asked a white retiree if he believed in the existence of white privilege. He said no, but there was another type of privilege he wanted to talk about:
"Black privilege."
Confused by his answer, I asked him to give me an example of a perk that I enjoyed as a black man that he couldn't. His answer: "Black History Month."
"In America you can't even talk about whiteness," said Drew Domalick, who lives in Green Bay, Wisconsin. "If you try to embrace being white, you are portrayed as being a racist. If we had a White History Month, that would be viewed as a racist holiday."
Domalick isn't the only one who believes in black privilege. The term is being deployed in conservative circles as a rhetorical counterattack to the growing use of the term "white privilege." It's part of a larger transformation: White is becoming the new black....

At most colleges, marking “African American” on your admission application gets you evaluated by totally different, much easier, criteria than that used to evaluate whites and Asians.
You should see it in New York city where I grew up. Almost all the hospital workers are non-white, and in the 1980s I was hired as a temp when they went on one of their many strikes, and when the strike was over I tried to join the union, I went down to their headquarters, and the guy told me to my face I would never get in because I was white.
Also check out the traffic cops, you’ll be damned if you ever find one white one same with 911 emergency dispatchers, almost all are non-white. Probably the only government job that has the same percentage of whites as the population is the Fire dept, and we can’t have that. So a bunch of blacks filed a class action lawsuit and Bill DeBlasio the second he took office gave them $98 million bucks.
White “privilege” my ASS.

Of black leaders the guy who has been really sounding off on this has not been Carson, but Milwaukee county (D) sheriff David Clarke. As far as I’m concerned Carson ia a big dissapointment.
Duh. Affirmative action, set asides, trillions in government benefits, lawsuits, people afraid to fire minorities.
And this liberal writer acts like he’s confused.
It’s no privilege to be given a job over better qualified applicants?
Affirmative Action.
Black privilege means your race is seldom if ever mentioned in the press when you commit a crime.
Uh - it's the other 11.
Where’s the White Studies programs at universities?

Whites aren’t a legally protected class given a legal right to cut to the front of the line. Nuf said.
Oh you can talk about whiteness all you want, just so long as you frame it as a pathology to be extinguished.
Black privilege is not even close. It is more like Black worship.
