A Comment on the Allegations of Cruz's Infidelity
March 29, 2016 | grey_whiskers

By now, everyone with an IQ above that of roofing tar has heard of the allegations of sexual infidelity by Sen. Ted Cruz (Cuban - TX (by way of Canada)).

I do not intend to review the entire timeline of this controversy, nor to engage in rumor mongering against Cruz, nor against Trump; still less to attribute the stories to any other candidate's campaign or shadow cabal or conspiracy.

I just wish to note that last night, Sen. Cruz held a press conference with Carly Fiorina (ex-CEO, Lucent) in which he was asked to affirm that he had never had an affair. But even as he hesitated before answering, Carly Fiorina interrupted. Quoting from the article:

‘Why do you all dance to Donald Trump’s tune?’ she demanded to know of about 15 reporters in the room. ‘Let’s talk about the issues, please!’

DailyMail.com directed the question a second time at Cruz when Fiorina had finished.

‘Senator I’m sorry, this is a very serious question about your character,’ the second question came.

‘Will you just – if the answer is, “Yes, I’ve always been faithful to my wife,” can you just say so please?’

His practised answer stuck to the more limited denial that the National Enquirer story was false, calling it ‘complete garbage.’

‘It is total lies, it was planted by Donald Trump’s henchmen, and I don’t think the people of Wisconsin or the people of America have any interest in tabloid trash.’

A couple of things immediately came to mind.

1) Why is it another politician, and a female one at that, who is on the podium with him, instead of his wife?

2) Why does this female have to answer for him?

3) The reporter practically spoon fed him words to say to make the scandal go away. Why didn't he take the hint and the lifeline?

and finally...

4) why does his answer "...it was planned by Donald Trump's henchmen" remind me of Hillary and the Blue Dress?

It must be a vast Donald Trump conspiracy.

"I don’t know if Cruz had affairs or not. I don’t really care but then again what has that to do with whether or not he’d be a good president?"

If you're not who you say you are, then how do I know who I'm voting for? How do I know you're not going to be blackmailed or coerced into doing something against your "beliefs"?

More a matter of trust from the guy who told us he was the most hard core Christian out there as part of his campaign. I'd still vote for him if he got the nomination but would be pissed about it and even how he went about getting that nomination - once the slime starts splattering on one, it's hard to get really clean again.

erm, you do realize that trump’s the outsider candidate running the right spectrum Liberal/Sovereignty conservative campaign, and not the insider candidate running the left spectrum Social/Globalist conservative campaign, and how/why that relates to the possibility of infidelity being an issue to supporters of the latter candidate, yet not so much an issue to the supporters of trump - right?!~

Why are we even wasting time on phantom Ted Cruz affairs that never happened instead of going after the world's champion serial adulterer, Donald Trump who has made a profession out of cheating on his wives often with other men's wives?

The point is that Trump's infidelities are known and he's never denied them. Trump does not hold himself out to be a paragon of virtue as Cruz does.

Cruz's repeated deflections and refusal to state in no uncertain terms that he has never been unfaithful are the issue. Cruz has repeatedly claimed that he has strong Christian values, he is the "true" conservative, he is the only candidate with the morals to be the POTUS.

The Daily Mail video was pretty damning in my view.

I would have cut off Carly and said "No, this is my question to answer, and I'll answer it. I have always been faithful to my wife, and I have never cheated on my wife. I haven't had any sexual contact with any other person since my wife and I were married. Is that clear enough for you? Anyone who says anything to the contrary is a liar."

But then, I've got nothing to hide.

Didn't see the presser, but if Cruz can't answer with a simple no and then Carly has to save him with a deflect to Trump, Cruz sounds guilty as hell.

And what's the deal with sharing the podium with Carly?

That's just strange.

Condoms on the bed story was the funniest one today.

That was right up there with Weiner's "I was hacked!" defense.

I feel for you, because I think you're going to be crushed soon. You fail to see the Rube Goldberg contraption of flimsy excuses you've built to exonerate Cruz.

You're welcome to believe and defend to then nth degree. But don't blame Trump when the walls are crashing down around you.

When the dust settles the issue won’t be about sex, it will be about who got paid to hide the sex and where that money came from

Always follow the money

Especially when it’s political money

It is a phone pouch

That's funny, as Amanda Carpenter claimed that it was photoshopped onto the bed....so which explanation is operative?

Try to keep up. She says they are condoms. She says someone photo shopped them in on her original instagram she posted.

She is dumb. Don’t follow suit.

There has been no polling conducted in Wisconsin since the NE story was released. The most recent polling was done by Optimus. It concluded on the 24th, the day before the NE issue came out, and it had Trump up by 4 points.

her instagram is strange. mostly selfie pictures of herself. many of her children (why?? it’s public!) and maybe 2 of her husband.
On twitter someone did ask “if you live in DC area why were you in a hotel room”.
