Despite a daunting lead in the polls
Donald Trump ekes out a narrow win in the popular vote and splits the delegates evenly with Ted Cruz, ten and ten:
But the fight is not over. According to the Wall Street Journal (hidden behind a paywall) Ted Cruz now has at least ten more delegates from Louisiana than does Trump. Via Daily Caller: ...

Delegates
739 Trump
465 Cruz
166 Rubio
143 Kasich
024 Others
1237 Needed to win
In order for Trump to win the nomination before the convention he has to win over 55% of the remaining delegates. So far he has won less than 40%.
Trump supporters argue that as long as Trump is in the lead going into the convention he should automatically be declared the winner and any other result will be stealing the nomination.
Fine. If Cruz wins 55% of the remaining delegates he will be in the lead going into the convention. Should he then be automatically declared the winner and will any other result be stealing the nomination?
The most likely outcome at this point is that Trump and Cruz will split the remaining delegates and go into the convention with Trump in the lead and Cruz a close second. After the first vote, Trump’s and Cruz’s delegates will stay put and Rubio’s and Kasich’s delegates will be up for grabs. If Trump gets most of them than Trump will win. If Cruz gets most of them than Cruz will win.
All in for amnesty now aren’t you?
How do you Cruz fans square the propping up of Ted by the FULL AMNESTY gang? Seriously? How is this going to work?
IF he should make it in, you’re ok with amnesty, right??
There is no stealing involved. It’s not Ted’s fault that he is smarter and more politically savvy than Donald Trump.
Perhaps the Donald should bone up on how to make himself competitive in a contested convention...which is VERY likely.
Duh!
I’m with you. Once again I was suckered into thinking my vote actually count. But at least this time I came to my senses way before the election.
Really Bubba?
What a joke. Does anyone realize what has actually happened with this charade of an election. The race is such a lopsided win for Trump that its ludicrous to suggest otherwise. I will post a thread tomorrow in more detail.
Team Cruz has been highly efficient in inching out teeny weenie victories in the caucus states known for their dismal voter turnout. He won the Virgin Islands by 30 votes; Wyoming by 480 votes; Alaska by 600 votes; and Maine by 2,500. Here are the rounded total votes Cruz won in his nine winning states.
Wyoming 620; Virgin Islands 200; Alaska 8,400; Maine 8,500; Kansas 35K; Iowa 52K; Utah 122K; and Okie 158K.
These eight states total to only 385,000 votes.
Plus Teds lackluster Texas win, Texas 1,239,393.
Cruzs winning votes in nine states are 1,724,000.
Cruz won 9 states with 1,724,000 votes
Trump won 21 states, and nearly states were won by tens or hundreds of thousands of votes. The millions that have attended his rallies have voted.
Trump won 21 states with 6,020,000 votes
Can you see the difference Bubba?
His only way to prevail now is by chicanery and fraud.
Trump received more votes. Magical St. Rafael of Calgary comes out with more delegates. I know you are being obstinate, but ignoring the will of the voters is.....wait for it......FRAUD. Deal with it. You know if this was Cruz getting screwed on this you would be the first one on here screaming from the rooftops how your anoinTed one was shafted.
Good post.
Queen Noor’s son, Hussein of Jordan?
Very handsome young man, looks like Lisa.
Thanks for the link. Very informative.
Just so you know why, It’s because the “crooked” delegates are now for Ted.
What do I mean for “crooked”? It’s the super delegates - the ones the party controls.
Ted has BECOME the establishment, INSTEAD of changing it.
So far Landslide Donald has won far less than half of the votes cast. If he wins it will be with the same margin as Landslide Bill Clinton in the general election 1992.
I think it is beyond ludicrous to claim that anyone has a lopsided win if he can’t get a simple majority.
The Cruz people dont care.
They are writing on this page how it’s a perfectly legit path for the guy with the most delegates and votes to lose to a guy that preformed abysmally in key states because he “worked” the convention.
And they think Cruz will walk out of there with an actual support base? They think it’s just slap-stick funny.
No, those counts have not been updated:

Trump has 755.
Only 808 pledge delegates remain
His only way to prevail now is by chicanery and fraud.

The acutal public vote in each state isn’t that important at the convention. Rather the
candidate’s ability to cajole, bribe, entice or whatever 1,237 delegates to vote for him is
how one will win. If Trump or Cruz can’t do that on the first ballot then look for the
GOPe group to begin dealing and putting together a candidate with enough votes to win.
IMO, Trump or Cruz has to win on the first ballot or it’s over.
Simple answer: “The Don” won the early vote by a landslide, but Ted made almost all of it back up by winning the vote on the day of.
Cruz didn’t “win.” He bought out the delegates. Typical Louisiana corruption, tailor made for Lyin’ Ted.
