The violence last night in Chicago that resulted in the cancelation of a Donald Trump campaign rally won't affect the votes of the candidate's most ardent supporters or opponents.
But there are a lot of voters who want to support Trump but aren't sure about him. Then there are voters who lean against supporting Trump but who are persuadable. It is those two classes of voters who could turn this GOP primary campaign on a dime and either give Trump a runaway victory or lead to a loss of support that would hand Ted Cruz a golden opportunity to run off a string of primary wins.
Which way these voters go will depend on their perception of what happened in Chicago and whether Trump himself is responsible for the violence.

This was a coordinated effort to silence the republican vote and silence all non progressive / socialist / marxist voices.
It’s called voter suppression and Dems were masters at it in 2012. They are dusting off the playbook as we speak.
Ted Cruz also has a Twitter handle for his senate seat @SenTedCruz and that currently has 739K followers. While I don't track that one as carefully, it seems pretty consistent with what I've seen.
BTW, I'm not a Cruz supporter but I thought I'd point those facts out.
Thanks. Facts are good.
Lots of accusations, he said, she said, spin going on all around.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the article was wrong. I trust your records.
I don’t know, for most Trumpeteers it’s just more red meat.
Trump has 6.8M
When I heard Cruz’s reaction blaming Trump for the organized disruption from human garbage..he reminded me of the media and the left. I was a strong supporter till I saw that and deleted his app from my phone and unfollowed him on Twitter and Facebook.
Your dictator is losing his mojo. Time to get the faithful (faithless?) fired up again.
The culprit promoting violence is the media.
Yep. Not to say that I approve of Trump's rhetoric, because I don't, and I frankly think Trump shares some responsibility for some of his followers punching people. (I'm also wondering if he'll actually pay their fines.)
But when it comes to the violence in Chicago, how is it any different from eighty gazillion acts by some of the same people or groups since Ferguson? It's not. That violence was encouraged by the media, and so long as the media encourages those groups to violence, there's going to be violence. Trump is just the current target/excuse, but he is in no way the creator or cause.
Trump has, to date, only tried to defend his own right to free space -- he isn't going out and trying to interfere with other people's right to gather or speak, and (to my knowledge) he isn't encouraging his followers to do so, either. So even though I don't approve of some of the things Trump has said, he is way, way short of the abuse the media has actively encouraged and endorsed.
That seems to be a common theme, at least around here.
Not Hitlery, that’s for sure
AT has been in the bag for Cruz. How is Trump responsible for the orchestrated, planned violence by BLM, La Raza, Bill Ayers, moveon.org, Bernie Sanders supporters, etc.? This is all BS and Cruz, Rubio, and Kasich are perpetuating the dirty lie that the violence lays at the feet of Trump.
Yeah, I realized that I misread you.
News Flash!!! I posted the excerpt here after I copied it from American Thinker. I did not write the article
Our overlords watched what Nazis accomplished with the media, and are doing the same. Along the same vein, they look at how Red China keeps their people in chains and envy them.
I was unclear, sorry.
I was not addressing you personally.
I was referring to *anyone* who believes such things.
Really, I was addressing the fools out there in the world, not you for posting an article.
Seriously.
My mistake for being unclear.
Sorry.
It was all organized by Moveon.org
Well Moveon just pushed him over the top.
Soros and his ilk are no better connected than the GOPe.
The left has certainly clarified what the general election is going to be about.
A) Make America great again. vs. B) Do what we say or we’ll beat you!
