I posted this response in 2 other posts, and was requested that I post it by itself. So far I have gotten positive responses, but all comments are welcome.
I understand the core problem with people who do not support Trump. They look at him as a guy who says one thing and does another. This is not the case. I will explain. Trump, is a businessman. It is his job to get what he wants to get done, while satisfying as many opponents in the process. He does this as a daily skill he has developed over the years. He is NOT a politician, but the difference between a good businessman and a good politician is not that different, if you think about it.
If you think that he will, or any person will get into office and magically reverse all that Obama has done, your living in a fantasy world, regardless of what they promise. In the first 100 days, there are some things they can do, they can reverse executive orders, change political appointments, and even perhaps elect judges to the Supreme court.
But, it will be that person with negotiating skills, and the inherent ability to deal with both sides of the isle that will get the most done. Its the ART of the deal maker that will win the day.
Ted Cruz is universally hated by most in Washington, and IMO would be good for a SCOTUS appointment. Marco Rubio is just too young and inexperienced for such a monumental task, but his day may come. Hillary Clinton, is Bill Clinton II, or worse Obama II, she advocates all that he has done, and wants to continue with more of the same. She is a con artist since the days of white water, is a liar, hypocrite, and deceiver over Bengazi, is a Traitor over classified material in her own home on Servers, and should be in Jail, lot less running for Office. Bernie Sanders is a socialist, with no plans to really fix our country, rather spend its money earned by others, and continue the Obama legacy which he has much respect for...my God.
Trump is a problem solver, his goal is to get things done. He does not make idle promises and has a good idea what he can accomplish and what he cant. If he says he can build something, he usually already has people in mind to get the job done.
He is smart enough to know that he does not know everything, but is also smart enough to hire the people who know what he does not to make the best decision.
He finances himself, not because he has to, but because he knows that he cannot be influenced by a financier if he is to do what needs to be done.
I dont think he cares if he gets re-elected, if he does not meet his goals the first time around. I also think that if he tries to get things done and meets immovable people, he will not have any problem taking the issue to the people to bring pressure from the peoples side. He cant fire them, but he can make there lives very uncomfortable if they stand in the way.
He will not be politically correct with the peoples business, things will be done on time, at cost, and there will be no pork. He will exercise the Veto Pen, and will push for line item vetoing and simplified propositions, bills will be straightforward with NO additional pork. How refreshing. Any negotiations will be before the bill is written.
In short, America is a business, if you spend money for programs, they are business, not politics.
If your dealing with defense, your in it to win it. You dont send soldiers into a battle with their hands tied. It will be brutal and vicious, and our enemies will learn to avoid it at all costs. Brutality will be met with Overwhelming Brutality. We will win..FINALLY
Our military will become the strongest the newest and the most powerful in the world, AND we will use Americans to design and build it.
Our economy will begin to manufacture in America, we will stop importing people for jobs that can be filled with Americans with same or better skills (H1-B visa)
Finally we will secure our borders with Walls and technology, we will employ our ex-military who will use skills learned in service to protect our borders. All of this cannot be accomplished by a politician, it must be accomplished by a business savvy person, who understands construction, and contracts, and personnel. Only one candidate fits the bill.
“That is my worry.”
Mine, too, FRiend. Mine too.
I stated the first paragraph but do not know where the “IS at odds with this” statement, I re-read my post and did not see it. Could you please show me?
In fact, I like his knowledge, and part of that knowledge is his “flexibility”, It is necessary to work with both sides of the isle and get things done. I did say that Ted Cruz is Inflexible which is legendary in Washington, which is to say that he is a strict constitutionalist, and is why I said he would be great for SCOTUS.
IMO, bills laden with pork is what a non-businessman does to capitulate to get things accomplished. I believe that Trump has the experience to get around these traps. I don’t think the others know how, or are willing to do so.
Saying that it is how things get done in Washington is precisely why we need to see another way of getting things done.
I have long held that Line Item Veto’s would be a way to eliminate pork. I also said that negotiating would happen before the bill was written.
Remember a bill has to be voted on if an item is changed in a bill, so he can veto parts of a bill and send it back for approval rather than cancelling an otherwise good bill.
I don’t believe that I commented on this issue.
Are you asking a question?
Thanks Nikk
I respect your opinion.
I see, and have seen Trump attacked viciously by his opponents, sometimes like pack wolves. I see the Main Stream Media attack him, and in debates center their attack with leading questions and toss soft ball questions to others, while ignoring those who don’t raise a ruckus.
Trump plays the media like a violin. Those who go to his rally’s or listen to them on YouTube or read about them, don’t get the 10 second sound bytes the rest of the voting public hear as they are busy or uninterested.
Like I have answered already, do some investigation on your own, read about the man. Explore what he has accomplished, see who he helps, and just as importantly who he does not.
If you still feel the same way, I wish you the best of luck.
I think you’re confused, re-read what I wrote.
The things in italics are quotes from two different posts of yours - the plain text is what I wrote (i.e. “is at odds with” was a segue between two quotes of yours - one that supported Trump for being inflexible and one that attacked Cruz for being inflexible).
Furthermore, I did not say that’s the way things get done in DC - I said that’s how deals are made. What else does Trump have to deal for other than pork? That’s all most legislators care about - it’s what helps them get re-elected.
If he wants his wall passed, or his Muslim ban, or any other of his superlative ideas, he has to have bargaining chips. If he takes pork out of the equation, he’s not negotiating from a position of strength.
The bigger problem in this policy is finding the millions of illegals and deporting them. This will partly reduce the flow of new illegals, whos going to want to risk paying smugglers if they figure on being deported within three months anyway?

A question asked previously, but not in this thread. As I recall the answer was that removing the benefits would render them without
Medical
Dental
Housing
Schooling
Family Aid
And a host of other benefits that draw them to this country illegally.
Once that stops, they won’t be able to survive here and will voluntarily leave.
Also, I have always wondered why ICE was not there in force and with paddy wagons when illegal aliens had a protest?? WTF, they show up in droves. Round em all up, collect their families and BOOM mass deportation. But that is just My Opinion.
Filthy Low info, inbred Southerners are to blame for Trump...I despise those stupid bastards.
I think your heart may be in the right place but its not relevant to this thread. If you want to send a link to where you said that I said something. Please do so. Otherwise it only muddies the water in this thread. Fair? Thanks.
Trump has said in books and in person that he surrounds himself with the smartest people he can find. If he doesn’t know something, he gets the smartest people to inform him and advise him. That is smart business.
I have always object to the term “Muslim Ban”, what he has clearly said over and over, is that he advocates a TEMPORARY ban until we get things figured out. That is a democratic chant. Shame on you. Negotiating beforehand is the position of strength. Trading one for the other is a Political Trick. Experience says that you go in with more than what you want and use the excess to negotiate with, you don’t add to the bill to get it passed...IMO...but, Hey, I am not Donald Trump, and he has been doing this successfully for his entire career. Can you say the same?
Those are quotes of yours in THIS thread - there’s no link necessary. Unless you simply refuse to read what you’ve already written here.
You also seem to have some false concept of how negotiations happen. When two people negotiate, they both generally concede something to come to some agreement. If Trump says he wants a wall, what is he going to give the other side to get what he wants? More liberalism? Pork? What is his bargaining chip?
I don’t care if Trump surrounds himself with the “smartest” people if those people are liberal. Given his proclivity for lashing out at anyone who criticizes him, Trump clearly surrounds himself with yes-men, not people of principle. That is a scary proposition for a president. Do you want him implementing liberalism in the name of conservatism?
Please, quit obfuscating, if I said it somewhere in this thread, you know where it is, tell me which post it is. I want to know context, what was said before and after, etc.
I do not pretend to be running for the president, nor should you. In personal context, I can dicker with the best of them, that does not mean that I have the knowledge or skills to negotiate with people on an international scale, nor have I ever said I could.
There have been probably millions of words dedicated to how Trump could accomplish this wall, and many from people with far more knowledge and experience that you or myself. I said, read, educate yourself. It is not my place to educate you. It seems to me you already have preconceived notions about what he is going to do, with stating what he says he is going to do. Regardless, I did not cover any of it in what I wrote on this thread. However, I did cover it on another thread in the past day or two. And I stand by what I said. Do a search and read what I wrote, if you disagree, post it on that thread and I will answer it there.
Your last paragraph, forgive me, is laughable. To presume that any intelligent businessman eliminates knowledge based information on whether someone is a liberal or not is ignorant. Dictators surround themselves with yes men, not successful businessmen. They depend on honest dissenters who can prove their point. Like I said, he is not a politician, he is a businessman, very similar, but not the same. I think it is unwise to try to paint them with the same brush.
Never mind, you’re a perfect Trumpfan. Congrats.
Oh I am a Trump Fan, and thanks, you are a pot stirrer. I your not interested in being specific, that’s on you. Have a nice day.
For grins I did a word search on the thread. It was from Post #5, and was clearly a comment on Ted Cruz. Like I said, A pot Stirrer.
The "business model" Trump supports is the same as the Clintons' and Obama: endless demagoguery and the worst kind of smearing of anyone who dares question their actions. Trump makes Obama's defamation campaign against "Joe the Plumber" seem like child's play. Even Ben Carson admits that the public Trump is a BIG FAT PHONY.
I would like to post a long explanation, but with this statement of yours, it would be a waste of time.
YOUR JUST PLAIN WRONG...IMO
