I think you’re confused, re-read what I wrote.

The things in italics are quotes from two different posts of yours - the plain text is what I wrote (i.e. “is at odds with” was a segue between two quotes of yours - one that supported Trump for being inflexible and one that attacked Cruz for being inflexible).

Furthermore, I did not say that’s the way things get done in DC - I said that’s how deals are made. What else does Trump have to deal for other than pork? That’s all most legislators care about - it’s what helps them get re-elected.

If he wants his wall passed, or his Muslim ban, or any other of his superlative ideas, he has to have bargaining chips. If he takes pork out of the equation, he’s not negotiating from a position of strength.

I think your heart may be in the right place but its not relevant to this thread. If you want to send a link to where you said that I said something. Please do so. Otherwise it only muddies the water in this thread. Fair? Thanks.

Trump has said in books and in person that he surrounds himself with the smartest people he can find. If he doesn’t know something, he gets the smartest people to inform him and advise him. That is smart business.

I have always object to the term “Muslim Ban”, what he has clearly said over and over, is that he advocates a TEMPORARY ban until we get things figured out. That is a democratic chant. Shame on you. Negotiating beforehand is the position of strength. Trading one for the other is a Political Trick. Experience says that you go in with more than what you want and use the excess to negotiate with, you don’t add to the bill to get it passed...IMO...but, Hey, I am not Donald Trump, and he has been doing this successfully for his entire career. Can you say the same?
