I truly believe Ted would be an excellent Supreme Court Justice. I saw him vote against an excellent law that made sense with the exception that it would have violated state sovereignty, and he stood firm on that principle. Whe I saw that I knew he truly believed in the sanctity of our Constitution.

However, I believe we need a hands on businessman to save this country. Trump has terrific business sense and seasoned business skills. Ted does not. Ted is a seasoned lawyer and academic.

The only president who is going to move the ball down the field and get anything... Anything... done , is the presudent who can pwn the democrats

and maybe even make them feel good about it. But nah their happy cooperation is not required if a hostile takeover backed by their constituents supporting a popular president is set in motion

Now who would that be?
Ted the Texas Lone Ranger
Kasich the Affable
Willard the Willing
Or Trump the Dealmaker
????

Ted Cruz is PRINCIPLED, BRILLIANT, ENERGETIC and has PASSION for the Constitution.

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton had executive experience, so I’m not impressed with that.

I seem to remember that Ronald Reagan had executive experience and Ike did too.

‘Trump lost in court against an old lady whose house he was trying to take away.’

Lying as a Cruz supporter does not advance your cause.

So the moral of the story is that PRINCIPLES MATTER!

Sometimes we get unprincipled people w/exec. experience like Carter and Clinton, and sometimes we get PRINCIPLED people w/exec. experience like RONALD REAGAN.

Sometimes we get wonderful people without exec. experience like Abe Lincoln.

Bottom line: PRINCIPLES MATTER and so does the PASSION for the things I stand for like God and the Constitution.

Our Founders loved God, too, and PRAYED before writing the Constitution. I believe that is why our Constitution is so BRILLIANT.

Ted Cruz has accomplished much in upholding our Constitution .

He is the best candidate to get this nation back on track.

We have absolutely no idea what Trump would do as POTUS.

With Cruz we do have a good idea of how he would govern- his life long Conservative record.

Trump has a record that is inconsistent at best, .

And for all those now calling Cruz establishment- Trump's record is peppered with him supporting far left politicians, who, every bit as much, support the globalist elitists and ideas, as anyone in the GOPe. (Carter Clintons, Pelosi, Reid-there's even a Soros tie to Trump).

So for me tne question is:

Who is best to get our country back?

Answer: A Constitutionalist. The Constitution is what makes our country great.

(Also-Cruz just has the better temperment to be POTUS. )

Trump is entertaining, but I really have yet to see anything presidential in him, other than he keeps saying he will act that way, at some future point. (The fact that he says this in the first place, pretty much tells me all I need to know.)

Everybody can vote for who they want to. I'm voting for Cruz - the ONLY Constitutional Conservative in the race.

The other thing about Trump is when he says he's going to do something he does it. You can argue the long term viability of his projects all you want but the guy completes what he says he will. It's that side of his business skills that I am voting for.

I suggest people look up the story about the Wollman rink in Central Park. The city bungled the reconstruction for years Trump offered to rebuild and got it done fast. Nobody in New York at the time believed Trump could do it and yes he was promising a seemingly unrealistic time table. But the guy delivered. According to the Wikipedia page the City spent 13 million and 6 years and got nowhere. Trump finished the project in 4 months and spent 2 million of his own money and recouped the cash by running the rink and concessions.

btw, I believe Carly Fiorina nailed it when she said:

“..When Republicans lost the last Presidential election, the Republican establishment thought it knew just what to do. Pass comprehensive immigration reform. Stop talking about “social issues.” Go along and get along. Don’t rock the boat. Rather than fight for real change, stand by as government grows increasingly incompetent and corrupt.

But they didn’t count on Ted Cruz.

Ted Cruz is a true constitutional conservative. A real reformer, and a strong leader. And he can and will unite our party, and fix the festering problems in Washington—whether it’s our broken immigration system or the IRS. Ted Cruz is that conservative.

And here’s something I’ve learned throughout my career: if you are a real leader, you absolutely must challenge the status quo. ..”

He is the best candidate to get this nation back on track.

That is a very shakey conclusion. Cruz has shown himself to be an accomplished litigator, but he has also shown himself to be an inept legislator.

Now which position most closely matches the Presidency?

Be that as it may, you can't claim to be a leader if you can't get others to follow.

Yeah, that’s great about walking the walk and all. But apparently Cruz is so popular, he can’t get himself elected.

Hey Sun, It’s probably better that you don’t show up at one of those huge Trump rally’s because Trump has an unfriendly way of telling the staff to “get him the hell out of here”.

Of course we insider Trumpers all know what Trump is really thinking, “ kick him where the sun don’t shine.”

I just checked the FreeRepublic donor list and unless I misspelled your name or Jim’s secretary is a few days behind with her bookeeping, you were not on the list this last quarter.

So the moral of the story is that PRINCIPLES MATTER!

I'm too young to know enough details about Ike. But the guy had a mistress and I don't think he ran on anything more than he would do what's best for America. My limited knowledge of 1950s history is that Ike did such a good job that Nixon was considered a shoe-in for President and probably would have been if not for his poor visual performance in the debates.

Reagan was divorced which was still considered a slight on his moral standing. He was also a Hollywood actor and had all the baggage associated with that. Reagan was probably our only principled President of the 20th century. In terms of the right principles being applied to the executive branch of the country.

A guy like Reagan comes around once in a lifetime and even with Reagan most people didn't know how principled he was until he got into office and then, certainly after he left, he was sorely missed.

But an important point about President Reagan is that he was an extremely successful person before he ever stepped into the political arena. Successful for a long time before he transitioned into politics. He also wasn't a lawyer. He personally knew how unproductive our tax system was and he reached across the aisle and got Senator Bill Bradley to do most of the heavy lifting on the tax reform bill.

You need to realize that Mr. Trump is telling you what you want to hear. Donald Trump bragged, something to the effect, that all he has to do is mention BORDERS to get those who come to see him go crazy.

He’s pushing your buttons friend, but does he MEAN it?

“We are not talking about positions he has taken years ago before he became a Republican. In 2013, conservatives were fighting for dear life to oppose open borders, while Trump was not only supporting the Dream Act, but echoing the liberal politically correct talking points behind it. In August of 2013, he reportedly told a group of illegal aliens, “You have convinced me” of the need to pass the Dream Act.”

more: https://www.conservativereview.com/commentary/2016/01/trumps-questionable-political-history

Now compare that with Sen. Cruz:

“Ted Cruz ran on conservative issues like building a fence on our border when he was elected, he has lived up to his promises in the Senate and he has run a consistently conservative campaign. Cruz is also not temperamental and you don’t ever have to wonder what he REALLY thinks about issues like abortion or health care. Perhaps even more importantly, Cruz has proven that he’s a fighter who’s not scared to go toe-to-toe with anybody from the Republican establishment to Obama, to the mainstream media.

Cruz’s consistent conservatism mixed with his willingness to fight is why he’s the ONLY CANDIDATE RUNNING who can absolutely be counted on to get rid of Obama’s executive orders, kill Obamacare, defund Planned Parenthood and build a fence on the border. “

I’m voting for TED CRUZ, the man with a proven record.
