I really don’t see how term limits is a presidential issue - term limits would have to come from Congress approving an amendment and having that amendment ratified by the states.
How does he know that Trump will really mean what he says?
If he were to push term limits, his election would be sealed.
If Trump adds an issue that he has zero control over, the writer vows to become a Trumpista? Well gosh, that's logical.
Can’t push for term limits now, without losing congressional support.
Yes, we need Term Limits on immigration...................Two Years max then go home....................
This is good news.
We’re now into the “Bargaining” phase of denial!!!
After all, politicians get themselves elected to federal office to legally steal peoples money though unconstitutonal federal taxes.
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
Ater all, stealing money through unconstitutional federal taxes is easier than robbing banks for a living.
Unconstitutional...
Not going to happen....
That's what elections are for...
Term limits are stupid.
You need experienced legislators to make deals and marshall objectives to completion.
In regards to Trump, .....what limit?
He can only live at 1600 Pennsylvania twice....
To be a citizen...and vote, you must know English...so why are ballots in different languages???
Once upon a time, I believed in term limits.
Now I believe in giving our elected representatives in all levels of government nothing, or at most a cot, an airline pass, a bus pass and 3 squares.
Term limits only empower the bureaucrats who will become the mainstay as the seat changes hands over and over again.
Just stop making it possible to make a career out of being a politician and it will self correct.
And how, exactly, would a President accomplish term limits on Congress? Executive Order?
I would love to see term limits
for both State and federal elected position.
I think 12 years in state senate and house of representatives. on the federal level the same.
governorships should be the same as the presidency 8 years.
if you combine all of this some one can hold public office for 48 years when you combine state and federal represntatiion....so the argument that we would not have anyone with experience does not hold water
Terms limits as the answer to awful pols is a pipe dream. It's the electorate...not the pols.
Whenever one of Trump's supporters gushes that he's going to do this or that there are two things to ask. One, have you checked whether it's still on his to-do list today or has he contradicted the promise since breakfast? Two, when exactly did the office of President become transformed into King or Fuehrer?
Being president is a serious business and the best of them have been very serious men who came into the job with deep experience in how to move masses of people who can't stand each other in the same general direction. Eisenhower proved he could as Supreme Commander AEF Europe. Reagan as governor of California. Truman surprised with the thinnest resume of the necessary honest front man for the hugely corrupt Missouri Democrat machine. I really don't see anything in Trump's resume or the character he's exhibited to make me think he'll be capable to doing anything his followers believe.
Dem’s are voting in primaries for trump as an operation chaos operation. They want to lengthen the time pubs beat up on each other. Working out fine for them. They also want hillary to run against Trump since he makes an easy target.
Term limits require an amendment to the Constitution.
You should want your two words to be “States Convention”
We need a constitutional Convention of the States for the proposal of amendments.
Term limits where tried don’t work
