Through a verified Twitter account Friday, the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) announced, that at the last minute, Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump dropped out of his scheduled Saturday appearance. “Very disappointed @realDonaldTrump has decided at the last minute to drop out of #CPAC,” CPAC tweeted, “his choice sends a clear message to conservatives.”

The Trump campaign released a statement:

The Donald J. Trump for President Campaign has just announced it will be in Witchita, Kanasas for a major rally on Saturday prior to Caucus. He will also be speaking at the Kansas Caucus and then departing for Orlando, Florida and a crowd of approximately 20,000 people or more. Because of this, he will not be able to speak at CPAC as he has done for many consecutive years. Mr. Trump would like to thank Matt Schlapp and all of the executives at CPAC and looks forward to returning to next year, hopefully as President of the United States

Bad move unless there is a pressing reason not to be there due to family or illness.

Has Cruz texted his supporters to tell everyone Trump is dropping out and they should vote for him yet?

JUST Kidding, we got to laugh about this sometimes.

Good move, at least IMO. For one thing, if he’s pivoting to the General election, CPAC is a bit smug/smarmy/cliqueish, it will earn you an eye-roll in most quarters.

Nobody goes there to make up their minds.

It sends a message, whether or not it was intended to is open to personal interpretation.

Campaigns need to be nimble, but this is a commitment he made a long time back. And we know perception matters in politics.

I’m sure his supporters in Kansas are happy.

CPAC has the deranged Glenn Beck who was talking about stabbing Trump if he had been at the debate last night. Beck has also adopted the leftist playbook of calling anyone and everyone who disagrees with him on anything a “racist” or a “Nazi”. After the NV caucus he referred to Trump supporters as “brownshirts”.

At the very least, the Secret Service should haul Beck in for questioning.

He is right to skip a meeting with these a-holes. They make him sign pledges to support other nominees but then they try to sabotage him in return.

Yeah, right. Or maybe he isn’t interested in kissing the butts of the Log Cabin Fags and Queers at CPAC this year.

He’s not conservative. Why should he address a conservative PAC?

It is the leftist playbook and there are stooges, shills and dupes on FR who do it.

Wonder how he is able to upkeep that super busy schedule? Might be good if he sent in a video message to CPAC attendees. That would be a good plan B IMO. That debate was not much fun or productive last night and what Trump needs now is lots of voters to seal the deal. The rallies are quite a visual across the nation.

Would Witchita, Kanasas be anywhere near Wichita, Kansas?

What is going on with Beck? Is it just that he’s part of the hair-on-fire Trump haters and it’s just his proportional response owing to being a nut job??

I’d love to go but then I would miss my caucus. I do appreciate him coming though. I like Cruz but I do like Trump’s message.

Much of Trump’s message has been about upholding our Constitution. That is something our government has not done for a long, long time. It’s why the whole leftist establishment, including Democrats and Republicans, the enemedia, etc., are against his message.

Government is supposed to fear that message, or the Constitution that is supposed to bind government. I believe Donald Trump is worth the risk and his message but we will have to work diligently to hold him to that message.

Really, it’s the people’s message and government should fear us, not the other way around. Trump has the opportunity to be a great president if he does follow that message or to break down barriers for a continued pro-Constitutional movement in this country.

Based upon articles on-line, there was seemingly some sort of organized trap to take place. Can only guess that team GOPe (Romney) was up to something.

As a candidate, it appears to have been a good move. Just imagine the video's of such a trap running 24/7 on cable news through this Monday.
