I completely understand why some conservatives are horrified at the prospect of Donald Trump being the Republican nominee for president. I understand their discomfort with his bluster, with his lack of any history supporting conservative ideas, with his many contributions to Democrat candidates, with some elements of his track record in business. Some of it bothers me too, although I do think a lot of the handwringing is over things that dont really matter that much.
But look, sure, nominating a guy like Donald Trump is in all kinds of ways contrary to what conservative movement types have advocated for decades. I wanted a conservative governor with a really solid record of governing achievements using conservative policy ideas, which is why I was so all over Scott Walker in the early going - and why I think to this day that it was a mistake not to give Rick Perry more serious consideration.
But hey, thats how it went. Right now Trump appears to be the odds-on favorite for the nomination, and a lot of conservatives are beside themselves of it. I get it.
But what I dont get is the currently popular fad of self-styled conservative intellectuals declaring that they will never vote for Trump, even if he is the nominee, and even if it means Hillary Clinton becomes president.
Snip....

As Trump stated in the last debate - he “hasn’t even started on her.”
Plus, the FBI is on the case.
Yes, but they need to read it.
But, no one except you even likes Cruz. Besides, isn’t he Damien from the Omen Movie (or he could be).
well there is that
ABSOLUTELY !! And why not!! After all, this rape trial, with Hillary Clinton as defense attorney for Thomas Taylor -did take place- exactly as stated in these newspaper reports and court records will show this to be the case!
I'm also -Absolutely Positive that all one has to do is go to the District Court in Fayettville, Arkansas and it will be on file there! And the records there will show Hillary Clinton as defense attorney and the minutes of the trail will also be there. And of course, the lenient plea bargain that Hillary worked hard to secure for Thomas Taylor -will be on file there!
Hillary will want to run to the nearest closet when Trump mentions all of this in the Presidential debates. -That Hillary worked vigoriously to get that reduced penalty of just two months in jail for a man -who raped a child. Yes, she will run off the stage in a dead heat ...and lock herself in a closet!! And then withdraw from the race - -and then run right back into the closet.
[anyone I pinged in error, plz. FRmail me]
I have already done my early voting, and voted for Cruz. But if Trump is the nominee, I will support Trump 100%. If a GOPe candidate wins the nomination, I will once again vote against the Donks, but likely the Donks will win as they have each time when running against a GOPe. Unless of course Hillary completely implodes. Otherwise I do not think this nation can survive another 4 years of Donks.
Hillary = Henious
I’d vote for a rattle snake before I’d vote for that evil -itch.
I’m not a fan of Trump.
I still plan to vote for him, knowing all his shortcomings.
As a conservative, I feel our nation’s first task is to keep Hillary Clinton well away from the White House.
I do not want the Third Obama term. Its time for a change.
And its time to make America great again.
We will never have a perfect President. But we deserve a President who will do right by our country.
Right now the man for that is Donald J. Trump.
