WI: Governor Walker Signs Gun Reform AB13 4 February, 2016
Gun Watch ^ | 5 February, 2016 | Dean Weingarten

Posted on 02/06/2016 2:27:32 PM PST by marktwain

AB13 is an incremental improvement that establishes a timeline for firearms owners to have their property returned.  From walker.wi.gov:

Assembly Bill 13 - intends to return property to owners who have been cleared of charges relating to the seizure of a firearm or ammunition. The bill creates a timeline for this process to ensure individuals will no longer be subject to long wait times for the return of their property. Authored by Representative Daniel Knodl (R - Germantown) and Senator Stephen Nass (R - Whitewater), the bill passed the Assembly on a voice vote and was concurred by the Senate on a voice vote. It is Act 141.
Governor Walker signed the bill into law on 4 February, 2016.  It will take effect a day after being published, which should occur on Friday or Monday of next week.

It is an incremental step, but in the correct direction.

Walker is one of the best governors Wisconsin has had in a century.

Walker can still be drafted at the convention.

I think his mistake was trying to do things the *right* way in his campaign.

In other words he got the political experts and professionals on board.

But they are just parasites, and worse, have no clue but are fakes.

Walker could have been what Trump is now. If he hadn’t waffled on immigration and got in bed with the GOPe there wouldn’t be a Trump for the GOP to worry about.

this is another reason he was my 2nd choice amongst republicans after jeff sessions. he continues to get things done. too bad he’s out. at this point, i’d take him over cruz in a heartbeat. ah well, maybe, he’ll get another bite at the apple.

Oh, they have a clue. They fully intend to line their pockets with as much money out of the campaign for them and their cronies as possible.

Or was used to having Preibus-types give him bad advice.

His waffly position on immigration did him zero favors.

It wasn't an issue he was ever going to get worked about, so it would (rightly) come across as inauthentic. You want to cut spending and taxes, and pass common sense reforms with a pinch of non-PC? He's your man, making the plan, executing the plan. But he's also naturally mild and measured, and the country isn't up for that right now.

What the man lacks in campaigning skills he more than makes up in effective conservative governance. Has a conservative ever kicked the left’s asses so frequently in a blue state?

Although I applaud the passage of this law, the fact that it even had to be proposed says there is something wrong.

The country hasn’t been in the mood for that for a long time. In national politics it seems that flash wins out over substance. Take a drink of water walk talking? Give a semi-bad response to a State of the Union speech that no one will remember? You’re done. It is compounded by the right’s obsession with debates and debate performance, something I’m guilty of big time.

“Walker is one of the best governors Wisconsin has had in a century.”

As a Wisconsinite for 55 years, I say, ‘Amen, Amen, AMEN!’

I have been unable to determine what the actual timeline is. Any ideas?

If he was still in the primary, I would wholeheartedly support him....I did before he left. It was a travesty he left. Debates should not be the be all end all nonsense they are. That is why we have Rubio in such an interesting situation cuz he did a good debate. Big deal.

The thing is. I take action over words. Did he actually pass legislation giving illegals citizenship? From what I understand, he stopped illegals getting free college tuition. I’d take that over an answer to a question. But of course voters are a pretty stupid group overall.

I don’t know if I’d go that far, but Walker was definitely my preferred choice long before any of this started.

we need someone who is unafraid to take on the big government interests....

palin tried it and her constituents managed to burn her..

walker tried it, succeeded, and then successfully fought off the attackers time and time again and never waivered in his stance...

the man has integrity...

yet the so called conservatives on this site tore him apart...

so sad that the very people we need ( and it happens in every election cycle ) get burned by the people who are clamoring for exactly what the person stands for..

walker was and still is my number one choice..
