I posted this in the comments following Lifson's article.

Gee whiz, this entire AT piece was written about some Facebook and other random jottings I recently posted that were reblogged here, there and eventually everywhere, but nobody thought to actually contact me? Hello?

Is this S.O.P. here? I know I've had a few submissions to AT rejected, but really, how about contacting me about an American Thinker piece that is about what I wrote, to get my take, before posting it?

I'm not out sailing, I'm not off the grid, I'm right here at my computer, and I have to find out about an AT piece about what I wrote, purely by accident?

Seriously? In a way I'm flattered, and in a way I'm insulted."

So American Thinker does a piece on my jottings about the Iranian capture of our Navy boats, jottings that have gone viral to some degree.

But did they contact me first, to get any updated thoughts or comments? My jottings are days old, and there is new information.

I’ve had a few submissions to American Thinker rejected in the past, so I know they have my email address! Plus, I’m on Facebook, plus my email address is on my website.

I don’t know if I should feel complimented, insulted, or both by discovering a piece written about my writing in American Thinker totally by accident.

I’m not off the grid, I’m not out sailing, I’m right here on my computer for the past week.

Amazing.

They should have contacted you. It might have been a sloppy oversight by the editor. Some authors have noted that they never received announcements regarding reviews of their books. Overall, you should be flattered. It showed they considered what you said important.

Just one other question - how is it that an Iranian naval vessel can get within a couple of miles of any US Navy craft in the Gulf without a couple of alert F-18s showing up. Tell me we don’t have alert aircraft in the PG.

Re: your observations.

I have been wondering the same thing for days. It doesn’t make sense that that ship was so far off course.

Yes. An interview with you would have been prime stuff one would think.

That said, and today iran releases the other 4 American hostages?

Something smells fishy. (See what I did there? ;-)

Far too much of this story reeks of BS from all sides of it. As your original article says, these boats are not without support, mutual if nothing else, nor do they skirt borders. This story simply doesn’t have enough public information to warrant any conclusion other than “not enough information”.

As I posted to you the other day Chris Plant of Washington DC’s WMAL AM radio 630 quoted your comments from the Western Rifle site giving you full credit.

He’s a solid “call it what it is” conservative voice with close ties to armed services community. Previous owners took him off the air after his scathing attacks on pro illegal alien crowd.

Contact him on his facebook page

https://m.facebook.com/pages/Chris-Plante/56953118652.

or through WMAL.

http://www.wmal.com/chris-plante/

I’m pretty sure he would give you some time as one of his catch phrases is something like this, “The greatest power the media has is to NOT report the news...” He’s destined to go to syndication soon. Stopped listen to Rush, Hannity, and Levin, but Plant is my go to show from 9 to noon.

WMAL has solid conservative audience from defense community and pols

From Matt Bracken's take...

"Today, these boats both not only had radar, but multiple GPS devices, including chart plotters"

then

"The boats did not enter Iranian waters. They were overtaken in international waters by Iranian patrol boats that were so superior in both speed and firepower"

Shouldn't the boats have seen the Iranian boats closing fast on the GPS\Radar\Chart Plotters ?

Back during the Bush admin when Cindy Sheehan was the left's rising star, I made some remarks on FR contrasting the press treatment with that of Jim Smith, who's son Jamie was killed in Mogadishu. Like Sheehan, Smith had been pretty critical of the sitting POTUS (at that time, Clinton), but unlike Sheehan, the media did everything they could to downplay his statements, his story, etc.

My remarks were picked up and quoted in a few op eds and blogs, some of which gave citation, and others that didn't.

I was pretty much flattered. That said, I'm not a published author with a brand to protect, so I concur with you...they should have followed up with you if they were going to cite you.

I guess your writing isn’t good enough for them until it is, but only if you don’t submit it, or something like that. Pretty piss poor on AT’s part. I agree that your conclusion is a likely scenario, but I think it’s worse than that. I believe a stand down order was given. How high up? Who knows? Plenty of bootlickers in the c of c. Btw, my son trained with that unit this summer and he says their top notch.

I just got it in an email with no source link. They spelled your last name “Blacken”, so it didn’t register in my peabrain that it was you.

They used what you wrote, they know what you think. You generally only contact somebody if you’re making accusations, giving them a chance to respond.

Matt, you’re the guy everyone in conservative blogship knows...”I was just talking to Matt the other day...”

Yeah, it’s not a classy way for them to conduct themselves...

Heap coals on their head... “Hey bro, you could have given me a heads up!”
