In a text that is coursing about on social media, professional God-slayer Richard Dawkins begrudgingly admitted that Christianity may actually be our best defense against aberrant forms of religion that threaten the world.
âThere are no Christians, as far as I know, blowing up buildings,â Dawkins said. âI am not aware of any Christian suicide bombers. I am not aware of any major Christian denomination that believes the penalty for apostasy is death.â
In a rare moment of candor, Dawkins reluctantly accepted that the teachings of Jesus Christ do not lead to a world of terror, whereas followers of radical Islam perpetrate the very atrocities that he laments.
Because of this realization, Dawkins wondered aloud whether Christianity might indeed offer an antidote to protect western civilization against jihad.
âI have mixed feelings about the decline of Christianity,

Funny how sympathies finally find Religion!-)
Some times it is the little realizations that leave an opening in mans hart. This is an opening a truth that Dawkins is seeing that he is having a hard time denying as much as he wants too. I myself flirted with Atheism when I was in High school and college. It was a small realization of the nature of god and Christ that brought me back to professing My belief in god. rather then being insulting I prefer to pray that Dawkins takes this realization and builds on it so that maybe one day he to can say “”I BELIVE IN GOD AND HE LOVES ME FOR BEING ME””
Next for Dawkins is to accept that Christ is man’s only hope for salvation!
What you say about the present state of mankind is true: indeed it is even worse than you say. For they neglect not only the Law of Christ, but even the Law of Nature as known by the Pagans. For now they do not blush at adultery, treachery perjury, theft and other crimes, which I will not say Christian doctors, but the Pagans and Barbarians have themselves denounced.Wise man. They err who say: "The world is turning pagan again." Would that it were! The truth is, we are falling into a much worse state. Post-Christian man is not the same as pre-Christian man. He is as far removed as a virgin from a widow... there is a great difference between a spouse-to-come and a spouse sent away.

You can’t fight something with nothing.
That includes atheism.
In my opinion, and with due respect to your opinion, it is not fair to relegate atheists into the same category as Islamic terrorists.
I’m impressed. He is right, perhaps for the first time in his life, but I didn’t think he was capable of admitting such an unpalatable (to him) truth.
I give him credit for being honest rather than putting on the usual blinders that the left is using to not see what Islam really is. I guess I can pray for his soul.
After spending a lifetime trying to destroy Christianity Mr. Dawkins has gotten a glimpse of what will replace it.
Maybe all the other anti-Christian bigots will also change their tune
Interesting. Atheists just see all religions the same...but the only thing standing between a muslim and an atheist is a Christian. The only thing between islamic domination is Christianity.
...interesting that he, as an atheist, has come to this conclusion. I pray that he realizes the truth in Christ.
Even the Post-modernist philosophers (if you can call that bunch of reactionary junk philosophy) concede that.
The guy has spent a lifetime trying to stamp out Christianity. Now he’s getting a glimpse of what the world would be without Jesus Christ. Imagine his realization when he finally gets full knowledge of life without God.
Many an atheist would tell you that Religion, is a useful concept, which is why Man invented it. If everyone basically had their own belief systems, nothing would ever get accomplished, but invent something that says the rules come from something other than Man, and get people to believe it, then it’s easier to control and harness people into building a society.
I think many atheists believe that getting rid of religion doesn’t necessarily lead to a better society, although they may not personally be a believer.
Good one.
Pong
People are starting to notice where a secular, "post-Christian" culture really leads - and it ain't utopia.
He must have had some Biblical or Christian training in his youth. Otherwise, he could not have come to such a conclusion. A very apt demonstration of how important that is, regardless one’s later “philosophy”.
You can always do that. I've got some pretty unlikely people on my prayer list.
