Personally, I was shocked when the "queen of conservatism" came out for Donald Trump. Phyllis Schafly has been a conservative icon for so long, and even though I've disagreed with her a couple times in the recent past, I was flabbergasted that she would pick somebody who openly declares that he doesn't see his need of asking God's forgiveness for anything. I realize she predicated her choice on what he claims to be his stand on immigrants, and how he says he will deal with the illegals. However, has she been listening to him or just reading what she wants to hear? He has flip-flopped on the issue so much as to make me throw up my hands and declare "What does he really intend to do...can somebody please explain it to me?" To one group it's this, to another, it's something else. That's not exactly what makes me feel secure about a person's stand on an issue, but with Trump, it doesn't seem to matter.
The other important issue is this. Who will he pick for the Supreme Court? That's THE critical issue that is not being talked about this cycle. Several currently serving are of age to pass on during the next few years. I do not see Trump choosing a conservative. He is not one, so why would he choose one? He is not for defunding Planned Parenthood. He is not a small government guy. He has no plan for anything realistically other than, "We're going to do this, it's going to be fun, and we'll get it done." That's policy? Sounds more like a coach before a kid's baseball game, not a presidential candidate laying out plans.
I feel that this year, 2016 is America's last chance at redemption. Franklin Graham is going to every state to hold a crusade and call for prayer/fasting for our country and this election. The very least we can do is pray and ask God who is the best choice to lead America back to a place where we are morally sound again. Wouldn't we want a real Christian to be that leader? Trump knows noting of the Bible. He doesn't think he needs to read it or live by it. True conservatives are those who see the big picture is more than fiscal conservatism or simply feeding the poor. It is being a leader to help get America back on moral grounds again, as well as leading in the other areas.
My prayer is that Americans wake up to the real battle going on for the souls of men everywhere. Satan is our Enemy and he is winning in America. Pastors have equated running for office with greed, avarice, ungodliness, etc. How do you elect godly men and women if you equate even the godly with he ungodly? Our forefathers never wanted to see the day when the founding principles would be thrown out, trashed, stomped on and godly people reviled. Pastors who shame people from voting will have blood on their hands. Christians who refuse to vote because Jesus is not running have blood on their hands. One can sin through omission as well as commission. Remember that.
A godly leader is marked by a servant attitude, transparent integrity, godly character; a good leader uses gracious words not speech that is like a scorching fire.
As good citizens we should not leave the operation of the government to ungodly men. How can we prevent that? One way is to use our vote wisely. We have the opportunity to vote in the primaries to choose a godly leader. This is an area that most (even Christians) fail at. We will be accountable before God as to how we voted...or not. When we could have done good and refused to, we give the enemy a foot int he door. You may be angry that you don't feel you had much choice, but there is still a choice. More of one if you join the few that actually do turn out for a primary vote. THAT is where YOU can make a big difference.
PLEASE vote in the primaries, and even if your candidate doesn't win, remember the consequences of staying home and letting Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton win.
Didn’t see him mention he is a Trump supporter. That’s what I mean about fanatic and making stuff up. We are not the enemy, so let’s stop treating each other as such. I see good qualities in both men. They both love this Country. And like I said when March rolls around I will make my decision.
What else would you call a man who regularly went on Howard Stern’s show
___________________________________________________________
Listening to Howard Stern is something I would never would have thought you would do.
To each his own, I guess, but I don’t care to listen to him.
What makes you think I listen to him?
Go away kid, yer mother's calling you.
Because you are nasty and I’ve heard so is he. *rim shot*
Posting Ann Coulter is disgusting. Ann Coulter certainly does not speak for those of us on FR.
But then you didn’t see the entire thread before the posts were removed, did you?
I know your type. I won’t fawn over Trump, so I’m a liar. I really don’t care...believe whatever you want.
“I’m not an Elk”
You must’ve missed my sarcasm tag.
You posted what Trump supposedly said on his shows.
You either listened to him or you posted second hand knowledge.
If you didn’t actually hear it I would hope you would make that evident.
With each post, you lose 10 working brain cells. At this rate, you won’t have any very soon. :^)
Just how are you invested?
Not with time (Tzfat, since 2009)....unless you were here ‘previously’. If so, what was your previous s/n?
Maybe you’re a regular/monthly donor? If so, great....FR ALWAYS can use regular donors.
Can I ask the Cruz supporters how they expect Cruz to win in a General when he has such extreme views on abortion?
Cruz holds that Congress can simply outlaw abortion by classifying fertilized eggs as persons under the law (14th amendment) thereby nullifying Roe v Wade. If successful, personhood would outlaw nearly all abortions and could even criminalize certain types of birth control. Cruz made the comments in a November 25 interview conservative commentator Robert George:
http://www.personhood.com/cruz_unborn_are_absolutely_persons_under_14th_amendment
Iââ¬â¢m a Catholic, and I am personally pro-life. But as an American living in a Nation filled with many faiths- believers and non-believers alike, I can fully tolerate a government that has legalized birth control and abortion up to viability or to save the life of the mother. I believe, any abortion after viability is ââ¬Åinfanticideââ¬Â because I think that even from a secular viewpoint - a fetus that can reasonably be expected to survive outside the womb has achieved ââ¬Åpersonhoodââ¬Â and should be protected by law. But too outlaw all abortions as Cruz suggests is too far.
At any rate, I think Cruz extreme views on abortion make him unelectable because they are way out of the mainstream.
What do other people think?
That’s funny. I didn’t think you did. You are just dredging for crap. If that’s all you want to look for that’s what you are going to find. Congratulations!
Schafly warns about the evils of gambling in fantasy football (http://www.conservativetruth.org/article.php?id=4765) yet she endorses a big time casino builder, makes sense.
“With each post, you lose 10 working brain cells.”
Well, shit, maybe if I keep it up, I could end up supporting Trump after all...:^)
There one article out there, that I could find. You can find a lot more on Heidi Cruz’s CFR connections. I say that as someone who will not hesitate to vote for Cruz if he is the nominee.
All of his posts were deleted; sure you’re supposed to be posting them one again?
You’ve been told that you didn’t see the whole thread, and yet you continue to try and call Freepers liars because they won’t fall down and worship your Manhattanite messiah.
That scum, Trump, is a good fit for you.
FYI, I’m planning on voting for Cruz. I guess you didn’t see that in my other post.
I guess I did.
