Forever a Starman: RIP David Bowie
Michelle Obama's Mirror ^ | 1-11-2016 | MOTUS

The man who practically invented alter egos has departed planet earth.

RIP, David Bowie, whoever you were; and thanks for the memories:

From Happy Anniversary Hub!

Around here, where alter egos abound, we’ve been Bowie fans for a long time. Remember this golden oldie, still gracing my sidebar, from my early days as Lady M’s Mirror Of The United States:

Just think, without Ziggy Startdust, there might never have been a Madonna, Lady Gaga or President Obama. Not that there’s anything inherently wrong with alter egos…butt I guess there’s a downside to everything.

Dedicated to the proposition that change can be a good thing, in the right hands: “Just gonna have to be a different man.”

This forum is about a lot. Politics, current events, culture, and even some socializing. But given that you’re fully functional human being able to make decisions and act on them you have the power to ignore the parts you’re not interested in.

What a waste of bandwidth.

Noted that you have posted on at least two David Bowie threads.

Apparently you care a lot more than you would have others believe. And not about bandwidth. About hearing the sound of your own voice.

There was a Bowie for everyone.

Some prefer the glam phase.
Others the plastic soul phase.
Others the “Berlin” phase.
The “Let’s Dance” phase.
Or the electro “Nine Inch Nails”-influenced phase.

He was a chameleon, that’s for certain.

Very talented musically speaking.

Diamond Dogs was the last of what I liked. BTW, I still listen to Ziggy Stardust and Diamond Dogs. They’ve lost nothing with time. I believe an acoustic demo of Ziggy is on the CD I have.

As far as all the other personas, I never cared one way or the other for the theatrics.
