A line that has been bandied about for at least 40 years is: God did not make men and women equal.  Colonel Colt did.  That seems particularly appropriate for this case out of New Hampshire, where a diminutive woman who is old enough to qualify for Social Insecurity used her handgun to protect herself.  Situational awareness and the willingness to act were a combination that spelled bad news for the attacker, who was less than half her age and nearly twice her size. The woman, who is described as 4-foot-11 inches tall and 105 pounds, was in fear for her safety, police said, so she drew her concealed handgun and shot Bontaites in the upper chest.

The woman, who has a valid concealed carry gun permit, fired one round to stop the attack before seeking a safe zone inside of the building. Bontaites, who is 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, fell to the ground as she ran into the secured building and contacted the Manchester Police Department through the emergency 911 phone line.

Michael Bontaites is in the hospital after being shot in the chest.  He is alleged to have followed the woman from a gas station, then hurriedly approaching her before she could enter her apartment.   He was attempting to grab her when she shot him.   The police have charged him with Robbery.

He had two accomplices who drove him to the hospital where the police had no problem arresting them all. The woman was interviewed on Fox25 Boston news. She’s a feisty little pissa. If the circumstances were different, if the gun owner had been a 35 year old man, and the assailant a 19 year old crack addled rap artist, the college debt drenched social justice warrior crowd would be all over this and the police and DA would be “investigating” and ruining the poor gun owner’s life. Social justice sux.

I have read about this case here four or five times this week....but not this particular article.
Too bad she couldn’t handle a stout .357 or .40 S&W. That would have made the country that much safer for everyone

The 65-year-old woman who was Bontaites' alleged intended victim, told police she had stopped at Mobil on the Run,.. around 11:30 p.m. after leaving work. She ...stopped at a traffic light when she noticed a dark-colored sedan behind her. She told police she had "heightened concern" as the vehicle followed her into her apartment complex parking lot

This is where you might decide not to turn into your own residence, but get on the phone with police and cruise past the station. As it was, she handled the situation more definitively than law enforcement would have, but she was lucky that he wasn't pointing a gun at her.

I read another article where she was quoted as saying she wasn’t trying to kill him. She said she would have aimed for his head if she was trying to kill him.

That said, here’s one white guy that wishes the SAME for ANY white guy robbing ANYBODY as I would a black or Hispanic person.

My guess is most on FR feel the same!

I read another article where she was quoted as saying she was not trying to kill him. She said she would have aimed for his head if she was trying to kill him.

I have to chuckle a bit. She made 2 errors in thinking here, but they canceled each other out. So she ended up doing exactly the right thing. She hit center mass and removed the threat.
