You knew it was coming!
Donald Trump said in an interview that rival Ted Cruzâs Canadian birthplace was a âvery precariousâ issue that could make the Texas senator vulnerable if he became the Republican presidential nominee.
âRepublicans are going to have to ask themselves the question: âDo we want a candidate who could be tied up in court for two years?â Thatâd be a big problem,â Trump said when asked about the topic.
This is how Donald Trump operates: whenever he's threatened by someone in the polls, he tries to smear his opponents. He did so with Dr. Ben Carson, calling him pathological, and he now does the same with Ted Cruz by trying to convince voters he isn't eligible to become president because he wasn't born in the United States.
Sadly for the billionaire businessman, however, there is one minor problem: in September of last year he admitted that Cruz is eligible:
"From what I understand everything is fine. I hear that it [Cruz's eligibility] was checked out by every attorney, in every which way, and I understand that Ted is in fine shape."
As Mark Levin says: "Oh my."
It goes to show just how sad a man Trump is. He doesn't have actual arguments to use against Cruz, and so he makes it personal and utterly dishonest. The man has no scruples, no moral compass to guide his actions. He's just willing to do whatever it takes to become the Republican nominee; if he has to lie and smear to do so, he'll do it.

First off, I like the way Cruz handled it yesterday, a great ‘jump the shark’ moment.
Part of my intention yesterday is to emphasize the dangerous power those oligarchs-in-robes have. Not all of them abuse their power, but too many do every year.
“You say we cannot trust the federal courts ...”
Do you trust them?
“... yet your suggestion means that the courts would make a ruling ...”
Ruling? Did I say they make a ruling? Trump apparently did, but not me. I said Cruz needs written assurance.
“based on facts or arguments they have not yet heard”
Did I say they should make a promise without studying the matter first?
My goodness. I’m far from perfect, but honestly ... how stupid do you think I am?
When you are in a nation ruled by oligarchs, I believe it is entirely reasonable to get as many assurances as possible from them for important matters.
Would it force them to recuse themselves? Why? Their court precedents have driven a truck through artificial commerce clause loopholes. Under the Commerce Clause, they could do anything they darn well want and not recuse themselves.
‘But Republicans have controlled the HOR for over two years now. So why haven’t they done it? Why didn’t Cruz encourage it?’
As I understand it, once the eligibilty form is signed, proecedure decrees it final — ‘speak now or forever hold your peace’.
We lost the debate about Obama. It was ‘finito’. FRiends have had so much success recently that they forget how many debates we have lost to the Establishment year-after-year. Our outrages buried for decades.
Coulter: Cruz is not a natural born citizen
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3380362/posts
Her tweet:
NYT: Cruz was born outside the U.S. to 1 American parent: ‘Under the Constitution this makes him a ânatural born citizen.’ Absolutely false [unquote]
And Coulter was a clerk to the supreme court.
But this runs way against the grain. Modern law establishes that only one parent is needed. Not that I agree that Obama or a royal bastard of England should qualify, but Cruz should be respected at least as much as Obama was.
Cruz is a very good lawyer, it is not possible that Cruz did not know he was a Canadian citizen. Why are all records of Cruzs' citizenship sealed in both Canada and the USA?

What's my point? Because of all that uniquesness, the issue isn't settled and there isn't precedent'. The 'pubs have been very sloppy about not getting a definition of natural born citizen since then. The way this is going down the slippery slope, there won't be ANY restrictions on who can be President!
Again, Trump is correct. He does have to be colorful and provocative. It's the only way peole take notice of these very important issues he brings up.
‘Did he ever renounce his Indonesian citizenship that replaced his British Commonwealth citizenship?’
Right. Lots of nagging questions. Like where is his VISA?
As to the confusion ...
The ‘G’ OP doesn’t think they have any say about eligibility. They defer to the Ivy Leagues and shrug their shoulders.
There are millions of people in this country like me. We are old enough that we received a decent education, we were taught in high school the constitution, the construction of the American government, the rights and responsibilities of an American citizen.
We were taught that a natural born citizen is a citizen born in the United States of two citizen parents. We are and were not political junkies, just went about our lives, working and raising our children. When Obama ran we said, whoa - this guy is not a NBC. We were and are ridiculed because of our beliefs.
Now, eight years later, we have seen just how badly that went. Does anyone think that we will get up and vote for yet another person who we do not consider a NBC? Already the few of us that are commenting are being called birthers again.
The media 24/7 and boards like this delight in calling us low information voters. Well, I can about guarantee that if the Republican candidate isn’t a natural born citizen we will stay home, vote down ticket only or vote third party. Because one of the things drilled into us growing up was the responsibilities of being an American citizen.
