Does anybody know how to completely reset an Ipad mini?
My mother won an Ipad mini a few years ago, but has lost the ownership slip showing that it is hers. Consequently, the Apple store will not do a reset for her because she cannot prove it is hers.
Somebody has put a password on it. We don't who did that and we don't know the password, that is why we need to reset it, because the Ipad mini will not allow access unless we know the password.
Thanks for any help.
She can’t prove owner ship. That’s why Apple won’t reset it for her.
40 cal does the job. Make sure and hit it dead center.
While reciting:
I grant you mercy.
When she bought it at Apple, she gave them an email, and she would have a record at Apple that she bought it. They would have all that information. Sounds like you bought an iPad that was stolen off Craigslist.
HAHAHAHAHAHA!
You can bring it to Mexico, they are real good at hacking into things at Eje Central, right next to the Tower of LatinoAmericana. It will cost about $40 and in 20 minutes you are good to go.
Sounds like the iPad is stolen.
Nah, she won it at bingo. It came wrapped, like new.

Ask uncle Google. I’ve had to reset these a number of times at work. Good luck
She’s not the kind of person to buy stolen goods. She won it. But somebody put a password on it and we don’t know who did that.
Apparently it wasn’t new, was it?
It’s a couple of years old now, but it came new.
She’s renewed her interest in trying to learn how to use it.
Forgot to mention, you need to restore using recovery mode. I support dozens of these at work and ppl leave and never give out the password before they quit. You will need a computer and iTunes. It’s painless if you have access to a PC or Mac and have the lightning cable.
Try her Apple ID password and see if maybe that is the pin on the Ipad Mini. If not, try this:

Seriously?
There’s nothing on it worth saving, so I’m not worried about that. I might load the Final Fantasy games on it, when I get it restored though.
She’s had it a few years, and the password put on by the original owner has just become a problem recently? How did she get in in the intervening years? She never had an account with Apple?
Story has a few holes in it at this point.
Connect to a computer that has iTunes.
2.While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. Don’t let go when you see the Apple logo â keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.
Follow instructions.
