Cruz is the smartest man in the field but there is only one minor thing that bothers me in his delivery of excellent points is his ‘pleading’ nature for people to understand them.

Cruz is the smartest in the world of "legal". Trump will pick him for AG and eventually USSC.

Trump is well is the smartest in the world of "solutions" aka "The Art of the Deal".

Pick a problem....look for a solution....Finalize the solution.

Cruz’s biggest issue is he’s a divisive character. He certainly can fire up the conservative base, but for ever conservative he motivates, he will motivate another to show up just to vote against him in a general election.

Cruz has to prove he can win a general election and that isn’t something he’s done yet.

For me his stand on H1B shows me he’s controlled by the same puppet masters as the rest when push comes to shove.

Cruz is the smartest man in the room...

In terms of knowing legal matters and having debate skills, for sure. But you know what? Jeb, Carson, and Kasich seem to be the only three of those eight who aren't smart enough to be President. Some of the others are as smart as Cruz, but with different intellectual strengths. JMHO

I see the same thing. Ted doesn’t need to plead his case. Being forcefully factual, and injecting some more humor, could help him gain support. Pleading doesn’t convey strength.
