Last night delivered another crushing defeat to the RNCâs plans to take out Donald Trump.
Their Trump Killer du jour, Ben Carson flopped. Inflated push polls can get the RNC only so far in repairing the damage Carsonâs uninspiring performance did last night.
Although he did not shine as brightly as expected, Trump did well enough to flip pressure back on the RNC. Now, as we get closer to Iowa Caucuses, they must decide who their new âTrump Killerâ is.
Last night some unexpected contenders made great strides toward the top of the Republican field ; and not unexpectedly the opinion of the experts is at odds with the average voterâs view of who won.
â¦not necessary to read the expert's opinion; we know who they donât support..
â¦.who they think did do well that throws the RNCâs plans up in the air.
In view of some very credible â but ignored - polls to the contrary; how long can Fox News and their collaborators at the RNC continue to try to sell the idea that Carson is neck and neck with Trump?
Yesterdayâs Morning Consult survey showed Trump gaining three points and Carson losing two points â¦.. fifteen points .. no one else close.
Whether the damage Carson sustained last week was justified or not he now needs much too much shoring up to continue as the RNCâs Trump killer du jour.
Enter last nightâs debate.

They obviously have too low of expectations.
Rubio is the GOPe’s next Gerry Cooney.
Carson said nothing...I’d didn’t hear anything which made my ears perk. He’s the gardener in “Being There”.
Trump did fine, he certainly didn’t hurt himself.
Cruz owned the evening with Rubio doing well and Paul having a better than usual performance.
>>But whom do they back now?
The RNC will go with the highest-polling Progressive. Eventually, they will back Hillary over Trump and tell us that they are doing it to maintain control of Congress because President Trump will damage the “Republican brand”, blah blah blah.
Cruz was a collegiate debate champion. Why would they expect him to do poorly in debates?
Agreed. Good surmation.
While at the kiddie table Christie took control hands down by focusing on Madame Pantsuit. Bravo!
SIT DOWN!

If only he said "GET THE HOOK" for Kasich...
“Cruz was a collegiate debate champion.”
One of the hallmarks of a good collegiate debater is how they can be assigned any side of the debate and still win. What they really believe is immaterial.
Because...
He's just another stupid repuglican...
Silly
great reference
The WSJ guy’s eyebrows were in overdrive...
Best line of the evening was Ted Cruz saying that illegal immigration would only be taken seriously if foreign journalists were crossing the border to take our media jobs! Classic Cruz!
Cruz is the smartest man in the field but there is only one minor thing that bothers me in his delivery of excellent points is his ‘pleading’ nature for people to understand them.
Since when is Carson the RNC man? I guess the author hasn’t listened to the GOPe pundits pan Carson and attack him viciously the last few days. He is as much a true outsider as is Trump.
It is fair that he cannot speak as eloquently as others about the economy. He shines most in ethical conservatism and scares the hell out of Democrats as he represents the opposite of what they keep selling to blacks. It is NOT fair to smear him as a representative of the establishment.

Yes, that was really good!
There are really only 2 folks with the “IT” factor on the Republican side, Trump and Christie.
The rest, even those I like, are not going to motivate anyone beyond perhaps the base.
Christie is just too damaged to go anywhere, but who knows he could wind up a sleeper if the primary GOPe guys keep going down in flames. They would certainly back Christie before they would back Trump.
Clock is running out on GOPe attempts to take down Trump, February first is coming. Holidays are here, no one at all but the die hards are going to be paying attention to anything from now until after new years.
