Even when it's Paul Ryan.
You may know MSNBCs Melissa Harris-Perry from her claims that your kids arent yours, because they belong to the collective. You may also know her from the time she wore tampons as earrings, the time she claimed the term ObamaCare was racist, her racist jokes about how hilarious it was for the Romney family to adopt a black baby, or her pro-tax advocacy while facing a $70,000 IRS lien for unpaid taxes.
However, given MSNBCs ongoing ratings nightmare, you probably dont know her from watching her show.

I guess in the situation where I’m called out for saying “hard worker” implying some kind of denigration towards blacks who have had to pick cotton as a slave, I’d say “I’ll gladly apologize to any one of you who have actually picked cotton as a slave.”

I predict dfwgator will comment since this is related to the cotton business a long time ago.

Saying that MSNBC provides the worst news reporting is racist lingo for these MSNBC news reporters have a lower average IQ than the rest of the MSM and probably failed journo school.

I sure wish she would make up with her white daddy. She tries so hard to be black. Maybe Dr. Phil can get ahold of him and they work it out.

She said she has a picture of black slaves picking cotton on her office wall. If so (and I doubt it), it is really to remind her to stay on the Democrat plantation and not venture off.

Ms Harris said that ‘picking cotton’ is her idea of ‘hard work.’ I guess that means that slaves who worked in the tobacco fields didn’t do any hard work. And I guess that 1) she is has not been a slave, and 2) never picked cotton (I’m guessing), thus she has never done any ‘hard work’ for anything in her life.

The point made is that "Hard work" implies manual labor to the left and progressives see themselves as superior beings that don't need to do that kind of thing. Saying someone is hard worker is a compliment among those who earn an honest wage. TV presenters don't want that type of compliment since it reminds them too much of honest labor. It's uncomfortable to be reminded how lazy and shiftless you are when you enjoy watching others work to support you and your kind.
the left wants to get paid very well to do nothing but to be the ruling class. Don't mention hard work - it will burst their bubble.

Her real issue is that “hard worker” may be contrasted with the leeches of society.

Doesn't she realize that white people picked cotton too? The white people who worked in the fields got the name “redneck” because of it!
Cracker came from the noise the whip made when the white Cowboys herded the cows! White people got lynched too, that was not a punishment reserved for only blacks.

Call up the companies that buy advertising on [P]MSNBC and ask them if they agree with Melissa Harris-Perry’s assertion.

Anyone who thinks you insult someone who worked hard at an occupation in the past, by describing someone who works hard at an occupation today, as a "hard worker," is at best marginally insane.
Regardless of one's social or employment status at any time in human history, to be considered a "hard worker," has been a term of respect--a term of appreciation for the quality described. How twisted must this unfortunate woman's mind be, to not see the obvious?
