“Just say NO to nitrous oxide.”
When I was in college, I spent an evening using nitrous oxide with some other people in the house I was sharing.
Before I went to sleep that night, I decided to take a shower. I stood in the shower, enjoying the warm water. But the water kept going cold. I had to keep adjusting the temperature regulator to keep it warm. Each time I turned it up, the water would feel warm for a few seconds, and then go cold. I thought that other people must have used up all the hot water in the tank.
After twenty minutes of this, I got out of the shower and proceeded to get into sleepwear and go to bed.
The next morning, when I woke up, I had first-degree burns over almost my entire body except for my head and inner thighs, and the bottoms of my feet.
I’m getting a chuckle from this...
Ban canned whipped cream!
HAHAHA! Stop! You’re killing me!!
Our son was born in Sweden. My wife had the choice of nitrous oxide, giving birth in a hot tub, or having saltwater injected in her groin area. We did not have the option of an epidural .
The medical people said that the saltwater injections simply mask the pain because they were so painful.
We chose the nitrous oxide. My wife just acted drunk for three hours. But when it was over she didn’t remember a thing. Actually I kind of liked it better than the American system.
It appears to be one of the most common analgesics in Europe.
I had a tooth extracted last July and the doc used novacaine and nitrous. I was actually disappointed when it was over. I had been dreading the procedure for weeks.
DO NOT TAKE IT AT YOUR DENTIST OFFICE!!!
I had it and they gave me an overdose, thought I had been in the office for about 15 min. I was in there for over 4 hours. Drove home (don’t remember it), went to bed and stayed there for 3 days, couldn’t get any thoughts together, couldn’t put enough words to together to form a sentence. Sat down in front of the computer and cried because I didn’t know how to make it work and I have used a computer everyday for over 20 years.
I felt like I had Alzheimers, contacted the dentist and he suggested I take B12, after 2 large doses it worked and I was back to normal.
The question I have been left with after this experience is how many people that have been diagnosed Alzheimers only have a vit b deficiency? Just sayin....based on my experience.
It helps me relax while the dentist is drilling, no doubt. Will be getting a crown prep next week and gas is definitely on the menu.
Next threats: Nitrogen and Oxygen. Only government regulated nitrogen and oxygen will be authorized for public use. The EPA will send a fine to God for repeated violations.
My childhood dentist felt that pain built character.
