Just ahead of a critical fundraising deadline, GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruzs campaign fired off an email telling supporters hes dropping out.
Again.
On Tuesday morning, this landed in inboxes across America:
(Excerpt) Read more at national.suntimes.com ...
Well, not quite. I got an email from Heidi Cruz with the title: "Re: Dropping Out."
Here is the full text:
I talked with Ted late last night, and he asked me to update you.
Friend, we're still almost $200,000 short of our End of Quarter Goal.
If we can't close the gap Washington insiders will gleefully use disappointing numbers as a reason to rip Ted apart.
Click here to chip in $250, $50, or $35.
Other campaigns have been forced to fold under the pressure...will you help me have Ted's back?
- Heidi
LOL, what a joke
This is the picture I want to see, or rather one just like this, after the Convention.
This is a fundraising letter...Cruz isn’t leaving the race.
Not true.
This is the downside of supporting a liberal like Donald Trump; one ends up sliding left as a result, and may lower oneself to lying.
I have the email open right in front of me. Cruz does not say he will "fold the tent" if he doesn't reach his goal.
As anyone who goes to the link can see, the email says Washington insiders will rip Ted apart if the goal is not met. The only mention of dropping out refers to other candidates who have done so.
BTW, troll, your billionaire has been courting donors and has a donation button on his website...odd for someone who is a self-funder.
Cruz whipped a popular, well-known, wealthy self-funded candidate in his Senate race. And the guy wasn't even a liberal like Trump.
Those of us who donate to Cruz got the email and know the story to be false. He is asking for donations to stay viable so he doesn't have to drop out.
Anyone who worries about this, and who isn't donating to Cruz, may help take the most conservative hope we have off the ticket.p>Now for a short public service announcement:
GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!
wouldnt sit well with the shrubbery better cut that splitter a check quick
I am astounded that no one in his campaign has reminded him that "clothes make the man"
By wearing the suits as he does, he looks smaller and weaker than he most likely is. He comes across as shrunken and apologetic...like a puppy with his tail between his legs. Not at all the image of a strong leader of a nation.
A tailored suit by someone who knows what they're doing would go a loooooong way, IMHO (maybe that is what the fundraiser is for. ;) )
Fine, just do it. Begging for money with threats to drop out are pure desperation and should be red flag to not throw more money down the drain. Cruz has absolutely zero chance of winning the nomination and would be great to see him drop out and actively endorse and support Trump. Cruz could then get back to the Senate and try and accomplish something (e.g., push out McConnell).
Regarding Cruz’s attire, I 100% agree. The image is overwhelmingly destructive to Cruz. Cruz is increasingly looking like a crank except that even Paul senior is better dressed.
Zin,
I don’t think I really noticed it before until I saw the photo next to Trump. He looks like a Frump.
Look at Paul Ryan. Forget what you think about his politics. He’s a man’s man. If Cruz had that look, he’d be up in the polls. He comes across as your HS Student Body president.
I like the guy a lot, but My Gosh, look at that suit. And the other suit he has, blue, is too small!!!!!! It’s that latest gay dressing trend whereby your coat is short and tailored, and your @ss hangs out from the bottom of your coat. Trump dresses impeccably.
I BET YOU THAT HE DOESN’T WEAR THE SAME SHIRT TWICE. AND HAS IT STEAMED AND PRESSED BEFORE HE PUTS IT ON, SO YOU DON’T SEE THAT CREASE.
Reagan had the look. That’s all it took.
Sorry, Trump does too. If he gets through the primary...and is still alive Nationally he’s poised to take 50 states if up agains Hillary or Bernie.
I got the same “fwd— dropping out” email “sent from Heidi’s iPhone” saying they were $200k short of third quarter goal. I didn’t like the gimmick and deleted it. However, I did like (and responded to) the matching contribution direct mail piece that came earlier this month...
“Look at Paul Ryan. Forget what you think about his politics. Hes a mans man.”
You are certainly right there! He’s a man’s man. Faggy looking Ryan really should be a woman’s man but I suspect that he appeals to men’s sexual desires more than to women.
Boy! If he sets the example of a real masculine male I must be blind.
The “Ted Cruz” Super PAC is not run or controlled by Cruz. In fact that would be illegal.
So I reject the premise of your question.
This is the guy who went with the Congressional Black Caucus to the Nelson Mandela funeral just to get his name in the news.
Apparently you don’t get it.
Cruz has no connection, control, or say over this PAC. If he did, he would be doing something illegal and would be criminally prosecuted.
Just an act of coordinating the best TV ad placement between his presidential campaign and that PAC is criminal by law. He has no say over what they do.
He does not need to “disavow” or “plead ignorance”.
Sorry, Ted, but you are badly in need of a good tailor, my friend. I mean who dresses you? The collar is not cut, your sleeves are so long youd fit perfectly in a Marx Brox comedy skit. Looks like youre wearing a jacket thats two sizes too long.
...
Reagan wore tailored suits and shirts. He learned early in his Hollywood career that he looked bad in off the rack clothing.
He is not going to win a single primary.
I received the e-mail, and it is not about Ted dropping out. It came out right after Walker dropped out, and was a fundraising e-mail. It basically highlighted the fact that money was the reason Walker dropped out, and asked for a donation to help make sure Ted had the money to go all the way to the convention.
This article is just trying to stir up trouble...
It is his fundraising e mail.
